The phone batteries tend to get damaged whenever they die or reach a full charge so they do that in order to make you charge the device before it truly dies in order to prevent damage to the battery

why dont they add a option to just make the iphone die on like 10% and then when u activate smth the leftovers becomes ur battery it would be good for emergency
