That tip will not make a difference in your battery health since it would go through the same amount of charge cycles as if you charge it up to 100%.
My tips will be don’t use the phone while charging to avoid overheating or breaking the charging port and don’t leave the phone charging at 100% for too long ( I consider too long for more than a few hours) also leave optimise charging on. Do this and I believe you will maintain a really good battery health over the years.
