SpaceX chosen by NASA for moon landing. Bezos' ego hurt, Artemis no more (probably)

In this video I discuss why NASA chose to Starship for moon landing, why it didn't choose Blue Origin, why this is a big signal to the old government leachers, why this is turning a corner in the future of how space contracts are awarded, why this is a big deal for the Starship program and much more.
Also thank you all for getting to over 120 subscribers.

Another great analysis. 👍👍

Yahhh ... all the traditional aerospace contractors leachers need to be afraid ... very afraid of Elon and his mission to Mars.

Hopefully we are seeing the end of, what they called on 60 Minutes, "The Senate Space Program". It's about time and way over due.

Can you imagine the Dear Moon mission circling the moon in 2023 and then in 2024 seeing an empty Starship waiting in space to receive passengers from the billion dollar SLS? The taxpayer outcry will legendary 😂

Right about now the SLS rocket 🚀 program has flat lined in the ICU.

Whoa. Just listened to the whole thing and when I heard the “just passed 100 subs” I was floored! How does this guy not have 100k???

*Correction:* the European Space Agency (ESA) _never had plans to use engines developed by Blue Origin, _ they always create their own European engines. 🚀

The engine for the upcoming European Ariane 6 rocket is called "Vulcain" and the Blue Origin engine will be used on an American rocket called "Vulcan" but the two are completely unrelated.

fwiw, when I worked in aerospace as a control systems engineer, our contracts took us to each of those "legacy" companies often. My boss charged them $135/hr (in '98) for my time. They were all about cost plus. I saved some money once on conduit runs and got chewed out.
Elon, on the other hand, runs a company that pays well for good workers and gets them. They care way more about safety than most other companies. Elon invests these companies profits right back into making the companies more successful.
Starship is the beginning of a new era. I wish it had started like this back in the seventies. Now, I couldn't pass the physical for the launch.

Anyway, love the channel. Glad I ran across it.

This was the most honest and comprehensive breakdown of the announcement I’ve seen. Thank you for really driving the point home that nasa is trying to deviate from purchasing its technology from the military industrial complex. I believe cost of runs backed by taxpayer dollars is truly the one thing holding us back from any true progress

Starship may become the DC-3 of the new space age.

Well done for such a young channel. Few videos have mentioned the implications, such as no longer needing SLS or Orion. What I would like to see more on is the massive volume.

The plan as stated is almost comical. 4 people take an Orion ferry to MoonShip, and 2 stay on Orion. I feel bad for those who will be stuck in a car-sized ship while the other 2 get to traverse the Moon in a whole house, which is seriously so massive they might need a map to find things. There is so much room on that ship, that the people who actually are making things slated for the moon, never dreamed of this much space. They have been busy trying to save weight and pack whatever into a ship's fairing. StarShip/MoonShip Changes Everything!

NASA simply didn't half enough money to accept any other proposal.

Thanks for uploading. I got the chance to view a rocket launch in 2018. Amazing experience. I posted a pretty cool video of the trip to my channel.

Aaaand at possibly very little additional development cost, NASA ends up with the option to have a ready made 1, 000 cu.m. shelter for a moonbase.
