Do you play games with IEMs? If so, which ones?

The anime waifus cover is a sign of quality.

I recommend not cheaping out to those trying to buy IEMs. They can be great at cheaper prices, but if you want the best value, do some research into the high end.

Edit: Mid range is probably the best value imo, ($45-100) BUT do your research.

Hey zach! KZ are one of the worst IEM makers out there. Their tuning and detail are incredibly sub-par (especially compared to the Truthear Zero) and that awful cable also uses a proprietary 0.75mm 2-pin recessed connector. The Truthear Zeros use the industry standard 0.78mm 2-pin, if you're looking to really treat yourself after getting those sucky KZ's then the Truthear Nova and Simgot EM6L are insanely good. Or for like $20 the Truthear Gate are extremely competitive (this is an AWESOME time to get into IEM's, the market has just kept delivering better and better IEM's for less and less money (those Zeros you love were made in collaboration with a youtuber called Crinacle, he and his community are the GOATs of the IEM world if you want to learn more about high end audio

I actually went the other way. Originally an IEM gamer, switched to headphones, and im loving it.

I’m not going to lie you’ve got to be the most relatable tech creator. Thanks for not reviewing the $2000 iem lmao

I've been using IEMs since high school. I had only 4 pairs over the span of 7 years and I love them for music and gaming but the true secret is how quiet you can have the IEM and how detailed sound sounds the lower ohm the better. There's no reason to bash on the wire just get or make a new one, I have a USB dac for my front panel headphone jack, you'll live. I have a pair of KZ Castor and you can tune the sub bass, bass, miss, and treble of the headphone. They're super cool

KZ has a pretty bad reputation and the zs10s are just okay. If you are fine with using the adapter, I recommend the truthear zero reds. They are incredibly well-tuned!

The biggest difference is made with a proper DAC. Even a little Apple USB C > 3.5mm adapter makes a huge difference for most headphones

As an IEM enjoyer, I can't stress enough how BOMBASTIC the Moondrop SSR Beryllium Drivers are for just $40. Another good brand for gaming and on the go is KZ, they have a bluetooth adapter, amp DAC, and they start around $8 for average experiences or $50 for their Pro and SZ headsets. Also, the CCA/ TRN Orca for like $9 is surprisingly robust and solid and even outdoes $60-70 headphones and over ears I own with features because it comes with 3 different EQ levers on each headphone.

Those are all good entry level Iems for people looking to dip their toes. Linsoul also has a huge quality selection. Also KBEAR sells a solid cable thats USB-C compatible and with a mic for $18 that will become your daily driver for most of these headsets, its insanely good and 3 feet long.

I haven't tried proper in ear IEMS yet, but I really love my Sennheiser Openbacks. Maybe my next pair I'll try an IEM.

I get why some folks love IEMs, but I feel like headphones give me that big sound experience. 🎧 It's like having a mini concert in my room! Plus, no more tangles. 😂👍

Those IEMs are like the best budget IEMs atm I think so they obviously won't sound as good as your old anime ones

Zach listen, to get the WOW factor, you preferably need a dac/amp to pump up your audio game as your onboard audio capacitors are simply not powerful enough to drive those and give the power they need. As for the cable being too short, you can always buy separate cables, better ones quality ones, and connect them to your IEMs, as you probably know they are detachable.

“Mixed feelings” on IEMs is an unintentionally hilarious pun to me
