This is really kind of a non-instructional video. Of course, you follow the instructions on the bag if you’re mixing the WHOLE BAG. But, if you’re only going to need a portion of the powder, what should the consistency be after the mix it? Is it too difficult to just SHOW the consistency?

Ok but what if your mixing only a partial bag, maybe for a backsplash. Do you literally calculate the ratio per full bags instructions?

My thinset doesn't have directions. It just says how long to mix but doesn't say how much water to add😭😭

Whith everything i do i read the directions thoroughly then dispose of the packaging so i can only dig it back out because i completely forgot what i just throughly read. Wether its cooling time or how much water to add it never fails....im digging in the trash

Actually, the water ratio to add according to the “instructions” are not accurate. Also, the temperature of the bag and room temperature might affect the ratios.

I don’t recommend your average DIYer mix an entire bag of thin set at once. You will end up throwing most of it away. Peanut butter works every time. Mix small batches. There’s a lot of room for tolerance with thin set.
