Nothing is more metal than missing family and being a good Dad

I can't say he made a "bad decision". He chose his family and his heart wasn't in it.

His backing vocals were also really underrated imo

He’s even mentioned recently that he wouldn’t wanna rejoin the band. He’s happy with his choice. Can’t blame a guy for choosing to be a family man. Takes a lot of balls tbh

Can't be too mad at a guy for wanting to be there for his family. He prolly knew the band was gonna blow up and he'd be gone all the time. Sometimes you gotta sacrifice things in life.

This guy said No to fame and wealth, and chose family instead. MAD RESPECT!!

When I was in jail about 18 years ago, I put a request to get into GED classes. His mom was the lady that met with me to discuss my options. She told me her son used to be in Slipknot and at that time was in a band called Pale Horse. It was in Illinois about 30 minutes from Iowa. Pretty nice lady from what I recall.

Josh doesn't mind if he doesn't make the scene. He's got a daytime job. He's doing all right.

As long as brainard is happy, and the boys from SK are happy, everyone wins.

Well, their S/T is their best album ever to this day, so I think Josh deserves some praise.

He wanted to be a family man. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I hope he gets residuals from the first 2 albums.

My aunt's stepbrother is Josh. I've heard him talk about the Knot several times and he usually states that he didn't like the producers telling him how to play his instrument. I got a picture with him when my cousin was born. He has been in many bands since and says he wants the ability to make music sound good with a bunch of different sounds (like MFKR was). This is what he has done in other bands of his. He has a platinum record in his bathroom from their self-titled.

Apparently, he received no royalties from Slipknot, for which he could've sued, but money appears not to be important to him. And yes, he still lives in Iowa. I saw him about a month ago over last New Year's Eve. He got to go to Paul's funeral (which he mentioned Sid crashed as no Slipknot member was invited) but also doesn't listen to Slipknot ever. He wasn't aware of the trash they dropped a few months ago.

I got to meet Joey jordison on Anna Maria Island about two and a half years before he died totally by accident and we talked about music he overheard me talking about how I hated Disco in 1979 and made a comment so I asked if I could sit at his table and there was a young woman with him I believe it might have been his girlfriend and I talked to him and her for about a half hour about 10 minutes in the young lady tells me that that is Joey jordison from Slipknot because I asked him if he played guitar because I do wow didn't I feel silly rest in peace Joey❤️🌹😥💫

the industry lost a great multi instrument player when joey passed. in my opinion one of the greatest drummers ever.

If he got any credits from that album and he truly didn’t want to leave his family. Then I bet he’s completely at peace with his decision.

Huge respect for Brainard for not only recording some sic guitar for slipknot's most iconic songs but also for leaving the band for his family. Line ups can be changed and replaced. Family can't.

I just Googled him and he's currently playing in a band called on a Pale Horse if anybody wants to look him up and show him some love.

I was in a college program with Joey Jordison’s sister back in the day; I still remember when she brought Slipknot’s demo CD to listen to on the way to lunch. Good times. 🤘😎

No wonder the following albums never sounded like that debut album
