Been to Cuba 6 times loved it. We tip maids cooks etc but like to find people that don't often get tip and reward them as well.

I rented a room at a local hotel and tipped a 20 the next day. Great service for 3 weeks 😅 and obviously more tips

as side comment to the video. As for being in bathrooms with no toilet seats, its due to during the US Embargo on Cuba they found adding a toilet seat was a luxury not a requirement as they couldn't afford them. It goes to prove a 1$ goes along way and if you tip 5$ to the waiter at the start of your trip you will be very well looked after.

I have enjoyed El Ranchon restaurant ( in Varadero) in the past their scrimp and rice is quite good and my partner usually has the steak. A bit pricey but excellent service. Nice to get off the resort and go into town.

Thank goodness you finally spilled the beans and told us where you were. We’ve been searching all over Santiago de Cuba looking for those restaurants !! Just kidding but it WAS a mystery til the end !!
Wouldn’t it be better to just tip with Cdn. Currency ? You’re on holidays. Just give them a five!
