To create a sliced terrain map from SketchUp location data, we're going to use the extension Joint Push Pull to create a solid from the terrain data, then use the extension slicer to slice the model into different planes.

You are incredible at teaching. I've modeled an entire house in Sketchup and then transferred it to Layout with floorplans and various viewpoints, all within one week of opening Sketchup for the first time ever—just from watching your videos. Now I'm onto a new project, trying to model a site in Uganda where the NGO I run is setting up a water service, and once again, your videos have rapid-fired knowledge and skills into my brain. It's like I'm matrix downloading skills, that's how good your videos are.

I realize this tutorial is almost three years old and there may be newer magic available now, but this was very very helpful. I'm switching over my CAD stuff to SketchUp Pro, and about ready to model a new house I'm designing, hoping to "place" it on a geolocated terrain model. So this--along with many of your other toots--was most welcome. Thanks again!
