What Did NASA Discover under Titan’s Thick Atmosphere?

We are determined to discover traces of life on remote exoplanets, so we cast our gaze far beyond the boundaries of the Solar System and into the great abyss of space. But actually just several hundred years ago a unique world was detected comparatively close to us. There are clouds in its atmosphere, it rains there and on its surface great rivers flow into lakes and seas. Still, the conditions on this fascinating celestial body are lethal, with the surface bound by incredible cold. So what is really happening on Titan?

The 2030's will see many advances in our understanding of the solar system's icy moons. ESA's JU.I.C.E, NASA's Europa clipper and Dragonfly, and other projects, are now intended at finding evidence of life. I look forward to future episodes of Kosmo reporting on their findings..

It's amazing that we know this much detail about something so far away.

Those views from the surface of the far away sun & giant Saturn just looks so surreal. Love learning about our solar system

Burning question:
If you brought a supply of oxygen to Titan, released it, and struck a match, would there be a combustion cascade that sets the whole planet on fire?

Thank you! Fascinating and informative. Just a heads-up: "Mare" is a Latin word meaning "sea." It therefore isn't pronounced as one would pronounce it as if one were speaking of a female horse. It is pronounced "mah-ray."

The "dragonfly" drone should be able to withstand being submerged in the bodies of liquid or at least, some drone attached to it via umbilical cable to be dragged through the liquid thereby gaining real info on the liquid since dragonfly can survey everywhere else but the liquid!

Probably the best Titan video so far from any channel on YouTube. Great detail and information! 💙

Sorry to nitpick, but the views of Saturn in the sky are not possible, because a) Titan's orbital inclination is 0.3 degrees, meaning the rings would be pretty much edge-on all the time and b) Titan's atmospheric soup is so thick, you would probably not be able to see the Sun, let alone Saturn, ever.

Titan is my favorite moon and is a better choice than mars to live on
