You are the absolute best for always putting the conversions in kilometers 🎉 You taking the extra time to do that is greatly appreciated by this grumpy overheated Canadian (omg when will the humidity go away).

Unintentional negative splits are always fun! I love following your journey. The fact that you're training for a marathon while working crazy hours (fellow journalist here) makes your channel very relatable and also approachable for beginners like me.

Yes Oofos are the best! I’m currently injured so I’m really enjoying all your training content. Great work!

Good job! Can’t say right now I am mentally ok with running in such heat. Amazing that you can! Shows a lot of mental grit.

I have also suffered from PF for many years and recently (3 months ago) started taking a Magnesium supplement because results from some blood work I had done showed I was low. As as an unexpected result my PF issue has almost disappeared. No more burning pain. I had a Chiropractor tell me a few years ago that I should supplement with Magnesium to help with foot pain but never took her advice.... Doing further research I see that this is a recommended treatment. I don't recommend just taking this without researching for your individual needs and probably should get blood work done to check levels but it is working for me and thought I would pass it on. Keep the videos coming, always enjoy them. BTW, It is hot here in BC too! 🇨🇦

I’m glad it’s going so well for you. The heat always adds a degree of difficulty. 14 miles in the heat… well done.

Great video of your update training of your marathon . Stay safe & hydrated on those runs here in Arkansas it is super hottt . It does help a lil i do mostly trail running & its shaded for the most part but the hills & the heat catches up lol ✌🏼

Our East coast heat and humidity has been insane. I have been doing a lot of cross training. Looking forward to tomorrow when it's cooler. Good job training through it!

Emily! So happy you are slowing your easy pace down this block compared to Chicago, I think you will see yourself recovering better and building a bigger aerobic engine! I see a PR in your future this fall. Cheers!

Props for training for a marathon in the stifling heat of summer, especially those long runs. That's why I only do spring marathons so I can train in the winter. Will be interesting to see how the training slow aspect works come marathon time. Good luck with the training.

Agreed, the heat has sucked in Maine as well!

Continued best wishes Emily. It's hard to get up at 4:30am and get my run in before driving Lyft but it's the only way to beat the SoCal heat and I'm too tired after work.

I've also been training in the heat. One thing that has helped me, I freeze my gels. They aren't frozen by the time I use them, but at least they aren't hot.

Great progress Emily, so good to see your crew out with you. We've just had a heatwave in the UK and I don't envy you having to train in 100° heat as being the norm! How you did that pace for the last 3 miles I don't know 👏👏

I am having PF flare ups too! I remember when I started coming back after PF the most gentle shoe for me was Puma Velocity Nitro 1. I think that SC Trainer is a slightly more aggressive due to the plate.

Excellent job and vlog. Question for you. Can you discuss sock paring please?

Great recap! I use Hanson’s marathon Method/Luke Humphrey Running & he always suggests to go by effort not pace when it’s hot. I’m in So Cal & I’m pretty sure I’d die in anything hotter than 80% & 70% humidity.

Such a tough week. 3rd week of NYC plan for me. Also hit 29 miles.
