What are Mast Cell Disorders and Mastocytosis?

I’m going to add ‘anxiety’ to that list of symptoms - it’s one of the first things that hits me before I have a serious anaphylactic episode and I’ve now recognized it for a real symptom.

Please do not rule out mastocytosis even if the tryptase level is within normal levels. Please allow for patients the benefit of DNA testing to find other reasons for the allergy-like symptoms.

The title of this video says "Mast Cell Disorders and Mastocytosis", but the doctor only mentioned mastocystosis. This is misleading and very frustrating. I have met too many allergist/immunologists who don't even know of any other mast cell disorders besides mastocystosis.

If there is a clear connection between IPF (interstitial lung disease) and mast cell activation and if immune cells can promote fibrosis and mast cells are known to be present in PF, I am curious to know how come no one has yet found the solution to correcting this awful health issue.

Important to note that labs for this to r/o Mastocytosis or MCAD they get tested within hours of symptoms and some labs need to be refrigerated immediately or the results will be compromised.
