I have Mcas I have over 40 intolerances from lots of different things, I have worked in the healthcare world for over 30 years now and now doing a degree in healthsceince

I deal with my mcas by going to a allergist.
They found my triggers . I treat myself with elimination or certain foods, chemicals etc and it keeps me in control .

I eat unprocessed foods
Used natural products
Have air purifiers
Dehumidifier

I take certain supplements to keep it under control .
I’ve been like this my whole life and now have total control .

One of my triggers wasn’t caffeine, it was the mold in the coffee, I switched to certified mold free coffee with lions mane and it changed everything!

So much information and I have to rewatch to absorb it all. Hopefully my endocrinologist, that showed interest in researching Dercums Disease, will watch this and other sources of information I've given him. There's a definite need for the medical community to expand their discussions of these issues so many of us are dealing with. Treating people for autoimmune and fibromyalgia disorders can only get us so far. I myself am absolutely exhausted trying to treat myself effectively despite periodic new lumps appearing; there's too many to count now. Thank you for posting this!

Why does no one talk about bile salts? I was having malabsorption problems and when I add bile salts a lot of my issues go away. I also take many vitamins that you mentioned to help mitochondria health and the bile salts have helped me to absorb them! I also lost about 7lbs of YUK that was stuck in my large intestine and causing issues. Once my body expelled all of that, took about a week, fibromyalgia symptoms almost completely disappeared.

After listening to this lecture I realized that most foods we have to avoid in order to avoid MAST cells activation are the healthiest foods. So before I venture on this diet I'm going to go on prolonged fast to starve these crazy MAST cells that make me so sick throughout half of my life. Another thought: that living in Canada's most polluted part next to coke generation facilities and chemical polluting factories with lax or unforced environmental laws is health risk #1, eating Canadian food is next, since it is laden with pesticides and herbicides and no standards or information on the content of poisons in the food is available.

Luteolin will irritate your stomach if you are sensitive to salicylates--not necessarily an allergic reaction, but a sensitivity due to lack of ability to digest.

Thanks for the presentation. I'm pretty sure I have both lipedema and MCAS now.

All those comments about people being sick from high histamine & MCAS because their homes aren't clean enough is far from helpful. Stop blaming the victim. You try being spotlessly clean when you are fatigued and have pain walking. Just freeze leftovers right away instead of refrigerating, and you won't have to waste food.

I would also like to say that this was very informative and I really appreciate the broader explanation of the connection between these issues. I also really appreciate the mention of the helpful supplements! Thank you! ❤

I was experiencing early symptoms of all these things back in 2009 with chronic fatigue, then skin conditions in 2013, followed by dietary issues with allergies to foods I had eaten all my life in 2017, topped by strange heart arrhythmia 2019 and shortness of breath in 2022. All of which I attribute to over exposure to non-ionizing radiation from the industrial forklifts battery systems at my workplace, where I started working in 2007. You all are experiencing these things late because 5g began in 2020 and women experience these things more often because they use their phones more frequently than men, which are a high source of direct EMF radiation.
I just looked this up because a Benadryl actually calmed the tightness in my chest and the breathing issues. I realized then that this is likely what I also have. My triggers are foods restricted in the bible to the Jews, including sugar, processed foods, foods with glyphosate in them, fats. I can eat eggs, but I cannot eat chicken.

Covid has hurt our immune response and it is only accelerating these conditions. We are being drowned in high and low frequency EMF at home, in the workplace, everywhere. Your body is trying to protect you! and is activating these allergic responses.

I have Urticaria Pigmentosa diag. 1987... Er Um er... Let's just say that if an informative video had been made using the amount of total information, I was given about the mast cell and/or Mastocytosis at that time and nothing much more for like over a decade, the length of that video would have been about 20 seconds long... I am truly not exaggerating. I was given a xeroxed copy of one paragraph which contained about 5 sentences or maybe 7, half of which pertained only to the "juvenile" form. The rest were about the aggressive terminal form and there was one about UP which said something like "indicated by the staining of the red/brown papules and rubbing to create a positive Derriere's sign." I was 17 and had a mother whose entire involvement with my disease consisted of her refusing to acknowledge the illness due to the inconvenience it seemed to impose moreover that it had no cure, so it was more productive in her eyes to repeatedly deny my symptomology and insist that there was just something wrong with me psychologically... Furthermore, I was then sent to a psychiatrist who also insisted that it was not a physical reality but something I did to get out of school or chores. For months I had this professional headshrinker applying advanced therapies to get me to feel that I was not experiencing what I was indeed experiencing. Amongst other things it trained me to ignore my symptoms as belonging to any one thing and to not bother to list all my symptoms ever to any doctors and even their training did not give them any reason to look for anything else. So, I had no idea what to say when applying for disability in my 20's so I was denied and for the many times since because I had to deal with my issues on my own for so long that I still have a difficult time listing all of the relevant issues.
Side Note* I never even knew that so many of my symptoms were related to anything mast cell. I still cry every time that I learn about another thing that can be explained as being Mastocytosis related. Even more crying when I hear someone with a mast cell disorder describe their similar experiences. The validation and simultaneous grief for having suffered so quietly and destructively for so long is overwhelming... but massively healing more that any medicinal remedy could be.
My most recent attempt to get disability resulted in the psychiatrist that ssi had me evaluated by in one-half hour session, informing the judge that I was a malingerer and had n less than 5 different personality disorders (that no therapist had ever previously diagnosed in me). I was denied my witness and was told that the hearing had to be cut short due to 2 other sessions running late that day and I was hung up on by the Judge while begging to try to give more insight... I have never been able to work, and I live impoverished while well-educated because I have zero income whatsoever.
That being said, please get the word out to the powers that be that we are not psychosomatic. And that the presentation is unusual and requires a deeper look into it. And that, importantly, yes it looks like allergies especially since the only relief some of us get are from otc allergy meds... But it is far different than just that one ige mediated histamine release... it is a NON-ige mediated flood of over 150 very potent chemicals. Most of which we have no idea what they do. They don't even have names most of them.
But I believe that many of you will be happy to hear that post-menopausally I feel better than I ever have in my entire life. I'm far from perfect and it is a bit late to begin a career... But I am better than ever, and I hope they find that since it was presumed to be "puberty onset" that perhaps my mostly "lifted" symptoms are what others will experience with their hormonal change of life (which came very early).
ATM I am writing this while sitting in the dark because my electric bill went unpaid this month... but on a brighter note I just filed for my LLC and I have an invention that I am currently seeking funding to develop to its "market state" so I can finally live a somewhat normal life financially and maybe stop being nothing but a financial drain and disappointment on my family.
To be clear, this is my way of thanking you for putting all this together for everyone's better understanding of this messed up confusing invisible soul-sucking illness... which although it is impossible to get an audience to hear about now, they will all see that it likely does pertain to them in one form or another touching someone they care about because this thing is at the core of waaaay more problems than we will know for a long while... and you have helped to exemplify this beautifully. I would add only one personal experience correction and that is that yes a reaction is a flood of mast cell chemicals being released all at once... but that as well, some of us are mostly "leakers" where we have a continual variety of different chems being released in smaller amounts giving rise to a myriad of symptoms that make us feel just S#!TTY 80% of the time and although these times do not warrant any emergency trip to the hospital, we are indeed suffering and generally dysfunctional. The irony being that many of the symptoms make it so that we are unable to convey what is happening effectively to those around us as they are happening... while it appears that we are just being whiney and lazy.

You missed one of the highest sources of dietary histamine: beef. Meat from large animals like beef, lamb, and bison is all aged, and high histamine as a result.

A dropp of fresh blood agglutinate before coagulate on a surface of a glass lamela, at some patients, after SARS COV2 infection.
At microscope erytrocyte aggregation like coin rolls can be seen.
This sludge can increase blood viscousity at perifereal blood circulation, where temperature are low.
