The terrific landing that comes to mind was an event called the Gimli Glider incident. A Boeing 767 plane ran out of fuel at 41000 feet due to errors made in converting to the metric system in Canada by the pilots and ground crew along with other mistakes that were made. They lost both engines and had to get to nearest airport which was a decommissioned old airport. Unknown to them people that day was using it for drag racing and go-carts. People on the ground couldn’t here the plane coming for them due to no engine sound. Plane was coming in to fast so pilot who had experience with gliders, had to maneuver the jet as a glider. They were close enough to kids to see the terror on their faces. Good documentary on YouTube. All survived

What a really fantastic compilation of outstandingly skilled pilots 😮 All of these were astounding but the skills of the helicopter pilots were phenomenal, balancing like that, especially when the rotar blades could hit the snow, was absolutely unbelievable, incredible skill 🚁 The pilot who landed on the ship in insane weather conditions at sea was absolutely magnificent 😍

As someone who lives in the UK, Storm Barba did really affect us. Luckily nothing bad happened near me except for some fallen over trees. However, my friends house got hit by a tree which had fallen over, and somehow her dad was fast asleep while the whole thing happened. Another friend of mine while he was walking by someone’s house and noticed around 5-10 bricks had fallen on someone’s car, the car being absolutely destroyed, poor them!

A friend of mine was a US Navy pilot. I had confessed to him that I was terrified of flying because, unlike driving my car, I wasn't in control of the plane. He laughed and outlined the training pilots have, and then said, "That pilot wants to get to his destination alive just as much as you do."

You left out Sully. He executed a totally perfect water landing. Not one passenger was injured. Scared out of their minds, but without any injury. Sully should've been mentioned.

The pilot that flew the TBW Avenger for the Air show while doing an emergency landing to the ocean near the beach, he did experience what the WW2 pilot fighting in the Pacific theather against the Imperial Japanese Empire would have felt like when their planes is either low on fuel/ bad maintenance or oil leak or badly damaged at the engine when trying to head back to their Aircraft Carrier.

Amazing. The plane lands on the freeway, and the drivers behind it waste no time tailgating it. So entitled that the sheer inconvenience of the pilot getting in their way.
