I was bitten by one I have never seen before, in Belize. It was on my inner arm between elbow and wrist and took weeks to heal as well as stayed incredibly itchy and swollen for 6 months . The swelling was 30 cm long from wrist to inner elbow joint. The tick was triangular with a flat and broad rear, not rounded and about 8mm in length. I had to use my lighter to detach it because it wouldnt let go and I didnt want any parts of it to remain inside my flesh. I worried for a long time what it would do on the long term and none of the doctors could tell because they were foreign . It left a white crater scare on my mid arm, about 4mm wide.
I have not found that tick listed anywhere on the internet.
