This one time I went to a doctor for prolonged fatigue, aches, fogginess, etc. but bc I also mentioned losing 30 lbs in 1 month due to having an extremely low appetite and throwing up every single thing I tried to eat/drink, this woman wrote me down as being anorexic and gave me a number to a therapist.😭 It wasn't until I switched to a new doctor that I found out I had lyme disease for 2 years.😭😭

I remember one time when I was out hiking in a coastal rainforest with my professor and classmates. I noticed a little bug trying to burrow its way into my pelvis. I pulled it out with my fingers. Now, thirteen years later, there’s still a little dark spot at the site of the intrusion. It may in fact be the head of that tick.

If you see a tick on you carefully pull it off so you get the whole thing. By that I mean the head didn’t separate and stay in the bite. Doesn’t happen much but something to keep in mind.
Anyways, after that put a little rubbing alcohol on it. Sure, it might burn for 10-20 seconds but that’s nothing compared to the shit you go through with Lyme disease.

I watched this video only because I had ticks today. I felt something crawling up my belly and I looked under my shirt to see 6 ticks walking up towards my hair. I am not too afraid of ticks but it was disturbing. I just brushed them off and continued my day. They were dog ticks so not the real bad ones. I did a quick tick check and I was fine and clear of anymore :)

The tick where it bitten me is turned into pelled skin for obvious reasons you usually don’t even notice. But I noticed because it was painful the first minute.

I went to a swimming hole in the mountains in Central California with friends and I remember a bug "crawling" down my cleavage and when I went to grab it, it was kinda under my bra and I made a comment "oh well, it'll have to come out or die". We had our fun and went back home but during the night my upper back was hurting and it would wake me up off and on all night. It was about the size of area as a saucer. Well the next morning I went to the mirror and was trying to look and see if I had a sore on my shoulder blade and noticed a dark spot. I saw something dark and small and asked my husband to see what it was. He said "oh it looks like dried blood" as he touched it and jerked back and said "omg, it has legs that just moved, you have an insect embedded in your back"! Within six minutes I was running into the ER and crying out for help. Thankfully the ER was basically empty (Gotta love Arroyo Grande, California) and the doctor numbed it, made a tiny incision, removed the tick and sent me on my way. Oh, and the doctor told me the only reason I even knew the tick was there and had pain was because it had hit a nerve. He said a lot of people never even know they were there. Creepiest. Thing. Ever.

I had Lymes Disease and Covid. Alot of similar symptoms. My covid case was mild and 4years after Lymes I'm still having issues. Developed facial numbness 3 different scared the heck out of me. I wasn't meaning to be disrespectful to those with covid or those who aren't here. God bless

Lyme disease affects everyone differently, some don't notice at all, some get fatigue, some get UV sensitivity, some can't eat red meat anymore, some go blind, some have organ failure or morgellans. Ticks have bioengineered. They can stay dormant for up to 30 years with no blood in cold. They are as fast as a spider. They were never this bad, is what they use to say...

This was stuck to my skin for 3 days. And I didn't realize because it wasn't hurting.

Tweezers are not the best tool for removing ticks. You are likely to damage the tick in the process of removing it, leaving its head in and thus promoting infection. You can buy proper tick pullers for pennies and they work fantastically by twisting them out

As a kid, I didn't go into the woods until after the first frost. If I did, I'd spray down with DDT before going in. Back then we didn't know how bad DDT was.

They don’t fly but they glide when a strong enough gust forces them to.

whew! i was worried this might actually be about tick infestations, because all i really wanted to see was:
- What is ticks
- What does do ticks do
- Is it good/bad/meh
- What tick does (again, because I'm am slow)
- Why ticks do this things

MAYBE TICKS CAN ONE DAY BE A BETTER PERSON SOMEEDAY IF IT RLLEYVWANTS TOO

ticks can suck blood and they can get so big they fall of and lay eggs. New fear unlocked: child support.
