8:10 the thing I see EVERYONE doing wrong when using the railgun is quite simple. At the start of the mission, don't select the stratagem that says "railgun", select either the one that says "autocannon" or "quasar cannon"

The railgun is the worst of all worlds: It doesn't have the anti-tank capability of the quasar cannon, has to be reloaded(and thus has limited ammo), and you have to play a mini-game to fire it properly without fucking yourself. Also, thanks to the premium warbonds, there are multiple solid options for dealing with medium-armor enemies with just your primary, so the railgun doesn't even make sense to waste a stratagem slot on those enemies either.

I posted a video asking people how they 1 shot bile titans.
(this was a while back before the problem was more known)
On video, I switched it to unsafe, and then proceded to dump 7 fully charged headshots into the bile titan until it died.

The first comment, "Unsafe Mode bro"

Fucking unreal the amount of confidence and simultaneous ignorance that goes on in the community.

Everything else aside, for it to be a precision weapon, the sights are awful. I'd like to see this modifiable or changed no matter the state of the gun.

It is wild they released the nerf, claimed skill issue, and didn't understand the PS5 bug for over a month.

The high risk, high reward of a fully charged shot isn't present. This is basically the reverse of fire damage - they kept buffing fire damage to compensate for not being a host bug. With Railgun, they nerfed it into the ground because of the PS5 bug. I have a feeling they gave the Quasar to us as as a consolation prize.

Stripping charger leg armor and killing it with follow up shots from primary was actually fun but devs labeled it "brainless" yet somehow shooting them in the face with an EAT or Quasar isn't

It already was a Primary in the first game. Always thought it was odd they made it Support to begin with. I say put it back to Primary as-is and then introduce a large over the shoulder railcannon Support that functions as a Recoilless Rifle sidegrade.

The point of a "railgun" is a weapon that shoots projectiles at a insanely high velocity to penetrate the thickest of armors you will encounter, playing it in unsafe mode should make it one of the best weapons that specializes in dealing with single target heavily armored enemies. What we currently have in game literally jsut feels like a sniper rifle with a bit extra damage. It is not cool, not realistic, nor fun to use, so then what purpose it is serving?

Love how the Railgun before the nerf was considered "brainless" gameplay. Then everyone switched to the Arc Thrower and was even more brainless, yet it didn't immediately get nerfed. It got nerfed/slightly buffed after the Arc crash bug.
Now the Railgun is basically not worth running, you're just waiting too long to fire off shots that have any meaningful impact.
I think a new buff should make charge time decrease for faster firing rate, and maybe a two stock charge so you don't reload often.

the real skill issue was the devs kneejerk reaction to nerf the railgun into the ground instead of loading a dev map and testing the railgun on a bile titan to see if it really was just the gun doing that by itself.

We need a heat indicator at the third person crosshair. Make that for all heat based weapons.

Devs stated they make balance changes based off of statistics. A lot of the community doesn’t think they play the game. They need more dogfooding or a small QA team.

Examples:
Slugger nerf and Dominator buff. They basically traded positions in firepower.
Railgun nerf and bile titan 2 shot bug.
Fire damage buff and DOT bug.

I say buff it. Don’t make it a primary weapon. It should easily take out gunships and the weapons and weak points on a factory strider.

I don't even think it has a place as a Primary because then it's just an Eruptor with less ammo, damage, fire rate, and lack of AoE damage

Ironically it was your railgun videos that brought me to your channel. You post things (with receipts) and I appreciate the transparency and testing you do. I've learned from watching your gameplay how to dive + throw my strategems where I want them to go instead of using servo assisted armor. So I'm just as baffled when people just say "skill issue/ git gud" without replying with a video showcasing their points.

honestly, if they left it alone in safe mode, plus your idea of not having penetration damage loss, it would feel super fun and tactical vs hordes. You could line up shots and try to see how many you can zap in 1 shot. Then make the unsafe mode feel REALLY unsafe, where it's difficult to wield but can bring down super heavy enemies in a reasonable number of shots. 20-30 shots for a bile titan is inexcusable
