how did the shock wave reach the ISS before visible blast ring on the surface reached California? As if any nuke actually could. And what was the wave propagating through? Did we just get hit by the fabric of space itself, because that's alot of empty space hitting you right there.

I mean yeah but no, it'd be like seeing a cool firework (that's destroying earth) and the biggest effect would actually be any radiation that leaked out of the atmosphere causing an EMP like effect in space, at most goners yes but not by blast. In least they're literally stuck in space for a few days before either a maintenance crew would come or the power restarted (from who knows what backup power module)

This isn't a "WW3 nuke sumulation." This is a scene from the video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and it's not a nuke, it's an EMP blast. If you're going to steal copyrighted material at least credit the source.

just a little bit of context, this isn't an accurate simulation, it's a scene from MW2 when a missile is launched from a nuclear submarine at the east coast, this is nowhere near reality, although it is visually pleasing it is not accurate in the slightest, especially the blast radius size

What was the size of that warhead? Hundreds of megatons at least. It struck more like a piece of a comet or a large iron meteorite.
Plus how did it hit the guys in space?

ok, i agree nukes can get to humungous sizes. But 1st of all, that was WAY too big. Second of all, i thought the atmosphere protected u from everything! not a little nuke can just seep through the atmosphere

Any kids or people with the media literacy skills and skepticism of kids watching this I wanna stress how incredibly unrealistic this is.

1. Shockwaves can’t propogate in a vacuum because a nuke gets its destructive strength from forcing air so there would be no shockwave

2. The heat would dissipate so quickly in space that you would see the bright flash for a few microseconds and there wouldn’t be a fireball leftover

3. The explosion seems to form a flat disc that expands in radius but if it’s in space the explosion (which would only be visible for less than 2 seconds) would form a sphere not a circle.

That explosion is one of my OCs, upon being brought back to life against his will. Of course, he’d do it on the moon, well beyond the range of hurting anyone in the blast, but humanity would DEFINITELY still see it. He’s THAT PISSED OFF.
