My neighbor and friend offered to rebuild our water heater. I said we needed to share his experience and tools, so we can learn. Then we can show our other friends how to rebuild their water heater. In exchange, we are going to teach them how to Rumba Dance- so they can dance on their cruise vacations. This helpful advice is golden because it makes people feel VALUED when sharing their strengths, creativity and experience. Yup, I hate asking for help. Having always been fiercely independent, I now have a couple of debilitating illnesses. My requests for help have been feeble and apologetic, and I hate being feeble and apologetic. Henceforth, I shall be upfront, direct and confident. 💪🏻

I have taken the word "help" out of my vocabulary. It is subtle yet it implies one person is better than another. I use the word " assist" for it implies partnership. ❤
