Best turns I've seen you do in a long time ! 😆😂

To be fair the “skidder” style is pretty close to pivot and slip drill necessary for mogul skiing

Thanks for taking us through the last 100 years of ski technique! Funny thing is, I know people who ski that way....somehow they still have fun....

I can see its hard to do it wrong :) Even with these wrong turns your skiing still looks nice, I was trying to understand why is that, I think this is because you still keeping good athletic stance and legs are in symmetry. happy new year !

I have never seen an intermediate skier be able to do these things while making short radius turns….good demos but the unfinished turn is the main one I see…with constantly increasing speed! Nice vid!

great video most people are a combo of all these which is why they are so hard to fix

I think the zig zagger is very close to the Italian school of short turns. To be honest, watching the ski instructors performing that is often very appealing :D

Also, the Aspen skier reminds me of an old John Denver Aspen based music special with some of John's skiing.

Respect! Gotta be able to mimic your students, partly to show them what they’re doing (although there’s video for that) but mainly to understand for yourself what these groovy movement patterns are doing for the skiers who use them. In NZ the boot crusher was the No 1 hit until twin tips put everyone in the back seat, but in Japan the shoulders-always-downhill remains a florid favorite, particularly when combined with an ‘80’s Descente Star Wars suit. Love it.

This is so cool and funny at the same time.

Some of these looked really good, in particular the skidded and the zig zagger. It would take a very good skier to look as good as this.

I think you had a video a couple of years ago pointing out that Marcel Hirscher makes a few of these "mistakes" so I will try not to be too hard on myself :). My Dad probably made a few of these mistakes too and I regret I don't have video of him skiing. He learned in Europe in the late 50's early 60's. Great long poles with a double pole plant and a bit of hop into each turn that I think he called a gelundi? Oh, and a big ole stogie lit up. He never changed his technique and he could rip a double back mogul run gracefully when he was 60 y.o. and too this day I have no friggin idea how he did it.

Love your videos - I am weakening and may need to go all in on projected productions.

There's also the "Frankenstein" with arms straight in front, and the completely rigid "statue" crouch.

Perfect! You simulate very well all the failures. And I bet everyone of us sometime move a step like this inside a run!

Oh no feeling called out. I'm definitely the boot crusher. In my race program during video analysis the head coach had to have everyone cover their ears while he told me to back off on the cuff pressure because he just got done telling them all to use more forward pressure.
