SparkFun Raspberry Pi 3!

The Raspberry Pi 3 has a arrived, and we take a look at its new features. The single board computer now sports a 64-bit, 1.2 GHz processor, onboard WiFi, and onboard Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

Raspberry pi zero still not in stock and their already releasing a new product? They really should focus on getting the RPi zero back in stock ASAP since there is huge demand for it. A speed boost and WIFI, BLE is a nice addition to the main RPi but not something you couldn't do with a few cheap additions, compared to the RPi which would be the cheapest SBC by far. Im starting to think that is costs the raspberry pi foundation more than 5usd to make the RPi zero and they are just selling a few sets for 5usd to get good marketing.

Nice engineering. Ironically all the connectors are much too big.
Do they have quake 3 ported for it? :)

As I understand it, it doesn't have a 2.5A power source, it requires a 2.5A power supply to get the same amount of power for USB peripherals as the Pi 2 because the power consumption of the main board has increased - and no-one's shipping 2.5A power supplies, including Sparkfun.

The Pi 2 is difficult to power from a LiPo battery, since it seems to pull a lot of current at boot time, resulting in brownouts. Does the Pi 3 being 2.5A mean this issue would be better? Or worse?

I wish they would ditch that USB micro B connector and get something else for the board's power supply. I've had too many problems with USB micro cables, and wasted too much time testing my power supply when it was the damned cable that was to blame.
