This is a very useful description of symptoms. As you say, the symptoms were subtle with my cat. She sometimes threw up after drinking water; she was constipated a lot, so I switched her from dry to wet food, eventually she did lose her appetite and lost a great deal of weight. She is now on daily subcutaneous fluid therapy to see if her liver enzymes will improve. I'm supposed to also give her Marin (milk thistle), but she bites me when I try to pill her.

My cat named olly passed away from a liver problem. My dad got that cat while he was in the army so if my dad ever died in Afghanistan my cat would be the only thing from him. Luckly my dad survived and about 12 years later my cat wouldn’t eat and barely moved. My mum found this very weird then went to the vets forra blood test. The blood test came in on the next day showing he was Dying of liver problems. So on March 26 2021 (3 days ago) the vets put him to sleep and I will never see my best friend again :(

my vet overlooked all the signs. I even asked to have bloodtests run again and she said they were fine 2 months ago. I'm finding another vet before she kills him or my other cat.

Hi Kerry, what is you take on fleas? The drops on the back of the neck get licked off, what do you think about flea collars and/or tablets as an alternative? (Nice liver pathology video !!)

a VERY distinctive sign for feline liver issue is 'copper' colored eyes. A congenitally damaged liver can not metabolize dietary copper and it accumulates in the cat's irises. See "Facebook.com/CatLiverShunt (posted by Maxim's Daddy)

How the heck there is no proper cure for this? Everywhere I read the cat died, only one survived. I am in panic mode! I went to two vets, both are losers, they can’t handle my cat because he is aggressive. They did blood test and he has liver problem, he is completely yellow in two days and he is not eating. I can’t give him his medications, he bites like hell. My legs feel numb, I feel so hopeless.
