Has your cat ever displayed any of these warning signs?

as a former vet tech, this video was great + very important! thank you for mentioning hepatic lipidosis, most cat owners don't realize that a cat not eating for even 1 day can potentially cause detrimental + serious issues!!!

This is a great video. But to highlight even more how subtle the signs can be, I once realized my cat had a tooth problem and needed to see the vet because when I touched her face, she didn't open her mouth or lick my finger. The signs can be so subtle that you might just dismiss them as your brain playing tricks on you, so when in doubt just take them to be safe.
Another good thing to know is how to tell if your cat is dehydrated: If you touch their gums and they're a bit too sticky, they might need more water. The usual check is to gently pinch a bit of skin on their neck, pull it up just a little bit, not enough to bother them, and see if it snaps back immediately or just kinda stays looking pinched. If it has no elasticity, get them to the vet.

That sinking feeling when the precious cat is not well. Thank you for this informative video. Much needed by all the 'slaves'. Need to know to give the feline the best life.❤❤❤

I'm cat-sitting for a 16 year old Norwegian Forest cat so this video was helpful for me. He didn't eat his breakfast and I panicked but he gobbled it up later. I'm sure he misses his mom.

I’m a worrier by nature so it’s always helpful to know what is a legitimate cause for concern, thank you!

My cat is turning 18 this month, and he's been going through some rough things. Arthritis is his main issue, but he also has kidney, heart and tummy problems. He refused to get up for about 3 days, and I couldn't get him to see the vet, so I hand fed him and checked in on him every hour to see if he was thirsty/hungry. I finally got a hold of a vet, they said he might have had a heart attack. It's hard to get to a vet where I live, there's only 2 in town, the next closest one (and the only emergency vet) is about an hour drive, and I can't drive. It's tougher in tiny towns to get good pet care, especially when driving is out of the question (I'm disabled) unless it's scheduled way in advance (our vets up here are booked about 6 months out!) 🙀
Thank you for this video, great advice for sure!

This was so helpful. My 18 year has back legs going out and a lot of these signs. I have been hesitating but I know I need to do a quality of life assessment now, thank you. This is important. We love them so much, sometimes we overlook.

Posture can help you determine where the problem is. For example, when one of my cats has stomach problems, she becomes reclusive, passive and stays in a Sphinx-like posture. She is protecting/hiding the part of her body where the problem is. When she's fine she loves to lay on her side and get her belly played with.

It is no coincidence they found a hidden area under the Sphinx of Giza. The Egyptians understood a lot about cats.

Had to get my cat euthanised tonight. I knew he was sick, but I was hoping for a miracle. I kept thinking I can't do this. But I knew that I had to. Rest MoMo my beautiful beloved boy. Always loved and never forgotten

#8 is a constant frustration for me. One of our lads just, doesn't stay focused on eating. He regularly skips a meal, and sometimes goes a full day not wanting actual food (he'll still go bonkers for any treat). He'll usually go right back to regularly eating after that. I swear he exists on half the calories he should be getting. . .somehow. His weight is maintained, his energy levels normal, he just doesn't always want to eat.

Many times, I wonder if I shape shifted into a cat, would my cat recognize that its really me. It would be cool to chase and groom each other.

Would he be open to letting me use his litter box or eat his food? Would he let me lay on him? Would he want to curl into me? Would he miss me when I turn back into a human?

I am remembering when my Cat was showing some of these signs near the end of her life it was sad to see but knew we should let nature just take it's course. It would be unfair to try to extend a cat life considering how she live over 21 years in this world and eventually we decided the best for her was put her down cause how much pain she was in. I can't remember how many years ago when my cat passed but She was an amazing cat over the years and rarely was sick if ever.

My previous cat Richard was diagnosed with diabetes for a year and a half, so there were certain symptoms that I was able to discover. The first was the thirst. Then he would lose weight thus seeing his spine, and then the blood whenever he urinated. I had to put him down.

one of my cats Octavia has bald spots because of over grooming for a while, but she is ok, so I'm confused, and what about her scabs? she has had them for a while now, their first appearance was as bloody spots, all at the tail base

Can you make a video about how to make your cat calm when it goes to the vet

So to be fair, though these arein a way correct warning signs, most cat owners do know when changes are physical or not. For instance cats do get more lethargicand change their eating/drinking pattern depending on the circumstances such as heatwaves and large changes in environment.
