Where do you get the new key from? when you buy the blank how do you know how to get it cut?

It would be interesting to see the tumbler and how that works.

Once got a steel door that had a mortise lock on it but didn’t have any keys. Rekeyed that to a key I already had. The hardware store even gave me the pins I needed for free. Really proud of that door. It went from a big piece of scrap metal to a really good lookin door and cost nothing but time.

I just picked up 2 knob/deadbolt combos…to my surprise, the keys that came with each set are identical and open each other…are these keys “dummy keys”, or did I just get that lucky.
