Sometimes, you might even be able to revive more than once. There's a skill in that tree where there's a chance for it not to go into cd. I've revived like 3 or 4 times while fighting Erlang.

fun fact, there is a pill in the game that will revive you just like this spell. the pill will take on all the effect of the spell and any upgrade you have on the spell. the pill will take efect before the spell. how ever, if you have the final upgrade, you should use the pill when the spell is on cool down, because there is a chance that the pill revive you and reset the spell cool down, giving you another revive chance

Although resting at the shrine doesn't reset the cooldown, traveling between shrines resets it instantly.

Also any points you invest in lifesaving strand also apply to the Soul Reimagination pill effect as well, including chance to proc bonus revives. Because of this after ng+, if you build for it, you get a minimum of 3 full lives (sometimes more) and 30+ gord charges if you use Guanyin's Willow Leaf in your flask, even more if you add Bee Mountain Stone on top.

On top of all of that, Spellbinder does not deactivate strand and since you can't use pluck of many while Spellbinder is active, there is no reason not to use strand on spellbinder builds since there is no downside or penalty

it’s not cheating. It’s just accurate to the lore. 😂 but idk don’t think i’ll need it. Just got through Chapter 3 and i honestly just clapped the majority of bosses there, few of em got me 2 or three times, but other then that I didn’t struggle all that much at all.

That spell is not "secret" since you get it by finishing the game, I thought you were talking about Spell Binding which is the only spell you don't get in the main story
