Combine this with hex blade’s curse to add proficiency bonus to each missile! This also works RAW and boosts your damage to nuclear levels. Also counter spell your enemies shield on your turn RAW so you’re good to go.

Magic missile exists purely so I can break concentration of my pc’s.

Edit: y’all ranting in the comments about level 6+ builds highly specialized, but one of my best players made a halfling with +0 con, and he’s still level 3, we’ve been playing for months, magic missile goes :)

That's how damage works for all spells that hit multie targets (Fireball, Eldritch Blast, etc). Look up the rule Crawford mentions in that quote.

I know! I played warlock in my first session, then found out that my dad used to play a lot! He said that he preferred wizard for the magic missile as it was his favorite spell! And I tried it and i decimated the boss too fast tbh. It’s busted.

4E Magic Missile Does 1d4+Int Mod. You get an additional missile at every tier. You add implement bonuses as well, and there are effects which can increase damage die from it

In pathfinder it's entirely dependent on the spell. Magic missile is separate attacks in pathfinder which means repeated concentration checks if they're holding concentration on a spell

Idk if I noticed just a mistake in your saying or if this was an error made in writing because in the video it's said "intelligence modifier" but as you said it you added 15 onto the damage, now it is plausable that you meant it's a wizard with 20 in int and that each missle gets +5 to it and because there are 3 it's 15 then it's my bad but it was just laid out weirdly on screen

This is why you always have a stack of paper with anti spell spells set to go off when someone casts any defensive magic. As long is there is no glyph of warding higher in the stack.

Here’s an idea for a type of “upgrade“ or at least an offshoot to magic missile.

“Magic Bombardment”
Level 3 evocation spell
Casting time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components V, S,
Duration: Instantaneous
Classes: (Wizard, Warlock, Sorcerer, )

You roll 1D20+(your spell ability modifier) for an attack (this attack cannot have advantage or disadvantage)
On a confirmed hit Roll another 1D20,
This determines how many glowing darts of magical force you create.

The darts hit one creature of your choice that you can see within range. A dart deals 1d4 + 1 force damage to its target. The darts all strike consecutively, and you can only hit one creature, not several.

This spell gaines no added benefit to up casting.
(The spell can be twined)

Magic missile is one of the best spells in the game, it's a guaranteed way to finish low target and prevent them from escaping or even living.

I remember in pathfinder, there's a feat called "toppling spell", that let's you attempt to trip enemies you hit with a spell that does force damage. Combining that with magic missile to knock prone like 5 enemies per turn (or using all the missiles on one target to make it almost impossible for them to succeed) was pretty fun.
