Let me know what you think of this new long-form series on this channel!

Every month I do a bunch of Q&A with my students and I want to start sharing some of the best questions in a slightly longer format than my usual Shorts content.

If you have a question you want me to answer, just leave a comment with #askvinh and my team will collect these questions and hopefully I'll get to answering them!

TIMESTAMPS:

0:00 - How to speak more confidently about a new subject
3:42 - How to answer questions you don't know
6:06 - Daily exercise to stop mumbling and improve articulation
8:49 - Techniques to manage your nerves when presenting

00:08 📚 When speaking on a new topic, build depth in knowledge to increase confidence.
01:38 🎤 End sentences on a lower pitch to sound more confident during the learning process.
03:44 🤷‍♂ When facing a question you don't know, admit it honestly, and commit to finding the answer.
05:43 🚪 In emergencies, buy time gracefully by suggesting scheduling another discussion to prepare better.
07:07 🗣 Improve articulation by practicing tongue twisters daily, focusing on exaggerated mouth and lip movements.
08:50 💆‍♀ Manage presentation nerves by exerting energy with star jumps or pacing to reduce excess adrenaline.

Landing on a lower pitch has had significant impact and improvement to how people perceive me. Thanks a ton❤

On the topic of learning to say "I don't know" - There was a line in a movie called "Thank You For Smoking" that Rob Lowe says when asked something he didn't know that has always stuck with me; he says, "I don't have that information." Sound kind of robotic said just that way, but you can easily make it more conversational like, "I don't have the information right now but let me get back to you." Has worked great for me in the corporate world to confidently admit to not knowing something while making it sound perfectly logical and proactive.

Teacher: Okay, so what's photosynthesis?
Me: Susan, it will take a lot of time for me to get into that topic... How about we schedule another time for me to deep dive into it.

Do a video that addresses a speaker's nervous tics. Distracting things like pushing up glasses, adjusting clothing, rearranging hair.

Great vid Vinh! I've started a YT channel and I'm starting to pop off now. I'm currently at 1.2k subs and gaining 120 subs a month. Your communication skills video have really helped, but one thing I find is that I'm always talking in a higher pitch. How do you force yourself to speak in a lower pitch? I also need to practice my breathing and slowing down my speech.
