Great commentary I have been attending a masonic revival lodge. That has increased its membership in attendance for the past 10 years. By raising its dress code to a white glove standard. And having a member give a 10 to 15 minute talk about the sock education of some variety. This talk is first written 3 to 4 pages and presented to the Master for approval before it’s presented in the rain so in essence like going to a lecture or symposium everything. The meeting location is a 250-year-old building with all the accoutrements of such.

Great video, brother. It should be grand and marvelous. We have several younger brothers, including myself, in the line at my lodge and we are working very hard to bring the excitement and wonder back to life. I want to see a return to the more esoteric roots of Masonry.

All I can say is you need to have the drive to learn, absorb, and practice what you were presented. Alot of IT is open for you but it is YOU to seek it out.

A friend offered me to join but I declined... I wanted to find my own way outside of the lodge (it's a sigma thing), and he's my reference as to how far I'm getting without the traversing the degrees.

I agree with many of your comments on the fraternity brother. I come from a small town lodge in Maine and many of our meetings are like that. My younger brother and I are the youngest members their besides a high school friend of mine, I’m 29 so there’s a huge age gap. We’re implementing a lodge education program where we talk about different Masonic related topics every lodge meeting. Luckily the older members are all for it and we have a few that have vast knowledge on esoteric subjects. One thing that helped me when I first became a Mason was jumping into the officers line. I learned A LOT about our ritual, also talking to older brethren and reading books about our fraternity. Joining Scottish Rite really opened my eyes up though, that’s what I really was looking for in Masonry, luckily I found a notch. Keep doing good work brother, I’m glad too see there’s many of us out their that want more from this magnificent fraternity and will do things to help propel it to the prestige of our past.

It's important to keep an open mind and to get to know people. Spiritual rewards are there waiting. Just because the stepping stones of ritual can seem mundane and without meaning because the majority can't see that meaning, doesn't mean the meaning doesn't exist. It's up to each of us to get past this fear of the unknown and keep pressing forward.

I'm sorry you had this experience.  Yes it's sort of the same in my Lodge but we try to do things with the wives and families away from the Lodge.  Just friendly outings and family fun.  That's critical for a good Lodge.  It has to be about Family and trying to be better men not just fundraising/money.  Masonry should be a benefit to a Brother and his family not a burden.

I left for this same exact reason. I thought I was the only one who felt this way about the lodge activities.

I am MM... I consider that it is not for all Men’s, sometimes they also get intense, many enter and want to find everything quickly and easily. Everything its in time, there is no rush.I entered the order at a young age 23 I am 32 years old and I have learned a lot and I have applied that knowledge in my life..

Thanks for kindness through your reply. I wish you all the best and hope you will find what you are seeking. God made you and I, so I love you brother. But remember, there can be smoke without fire...🤗

As a newer Mason (Just received my Fellowcraft last evening). I am wondering why you did not go over to the York or Scottish Rite. Everything I've been told of the Scottish Rite is that the degrees are a series of what I would assume is a theatre production in a way. As I do understand it can take years to get all of the degrees quickly. Thank you for this video, however.

My home lodge (one I joined when I moved back to my home town in Mississippi, I became a Mason in Oklahoma in 2019) don't do much fundraising, it's a small town with like 100 people so it's understandable. But as a guy who's about to be 25 I learned that IMPROVING MYSELF THROUGH MASONRY (the thing that every Mason hears since joining) is what makes it worthwhile. Meetings are usually fun/saying who didn't show but what you learn from the craft work is what makes it worthwhile. My life has been changed and I myself have seen a huge improvement in how I treat/approach/talk to people and its really helped me be a better person
