Part of me is a little nervous that the arm actually latches onto the chairs mid-ride.

Something about parts that aren't permanently attached just feels creepy, but I'm sure they'll make it super safe.

They use to have these in EPCOT where you could simulate a fighter plane or a rollercoaster and program your own experience.

This is nothing "new" It is an old system that been around for about 20 years. The only "new" idea is that the rider chair is detachable. Expect this not to work after 1, 000 hours. It has been tried before. The issue is that the system cannot be adjusted for the difference between a 50lb child and a 250lb adult.
