CGC will go bankrupt and they deserve all respect and business for them

CGC has their own restoration service and they were caught putting down a competitor falsely. That's the case.

One of those books that CGC hammered was mine. It had been previously graded by CGC and no trimming was detected, but when the Myers sent it in it magically came back with 3 sides trimmed. They gave them the special "Myers Treatment".

The accusation of biased grading is the biggest concern. Sure, this company is unlikely to make $10million, but if a jury believes that CGC was deliberately downgrading a company's books, then that's an ethical problem that could have caused a jury to award punitive damages.

So glad I held back from sending my books to CGC. Looking forward to PSA entering the comic grading market.

Once there is a judgement, there is no room for negotiating a settlement. They either pour money into an appeal and hope for a better outcome. Or, they cough up 10 million dollars.

The time for settlement has passed. They could have settled before the verdict but post verdict they cannot settle.

Hopefully this will encourage more collectors to buy the book, not the grade, and then display their collections with pride! The last decade has been too much about a chase for a number in a corner vs. how we value a comic personally.

Yeah, I mean, as they say, "The bill always comes due." CGC has been lying for a LONG TIME. What goes around, comes around.

The one thing that CGC is supposed to do is literally the one thing that apparently they have always been shady for doing….

2:16 The entire $10M was not for lost sales, half was for “punitive” damages. The word punitive shares a root with the word “punish”. Thus, $5M serves as a punishment to the defendant.

10 million isn't even a drop in the bucket for BlackRock...

Nelson needs to step down. CGC went downhill with him at the helm.

I sent a Wolverine 1 to them for the 50th anniversary signing, they sent me someone else's book and now say they can't find mine.

Good! Happy to hear they lost. I got books that were dinged or mysteriously damaged during grading and marked for using an outside clean and press company. It's no secret that CGC does shady things if you choose not to use their clean and press services.

An appeal isn't an "ask dad cause I didn't like mom's answer" - it's a last ditch effort hoping another court will find the trial itself wasn't handled properly - which is a very high bar and is seldom successful. But its staus quo to at least say you're going to appeal to save as much face in the public eye as possible.

When you said, guess who the plaintiff is? I thought you were going to say it's your Dad 😂. Nelson needs to step down.

They’ve got a $10 million judgement

No way they (the defendants) settle.

That ship sailed after the verdict
