Pixel 1 to 5 have unlimited Google photos storage and the original has unlimited high quality storage, I would fully recommend them for that alone

If all you care about is the latest OS, then sure... get the latest phone, that's a no brainier. But let's drive deeper. The Pixel 1-5 have a feature no modern phone has, unlimited free photo storage. Pixel 5 is the last phone to offer that feature. IMO v5 is the best Pixel to get, most recent phone that supports unlimited free photos.

The Google Pixel 4a 5G has a few months longer support than the Google Pixel 5 but not the Google Pixel 5a 5G, it came out later. I guess it depends on when the phone itself is released to the public to buy rather than the numbering sequence in the phone's name.

This is a first world perspective. Not everyone cares about software support. Phones just need to connect to the network to share information with other people.

That being said, for good value in 2024, if you can get a Pixel 2XL, 3, 3XL, 4, or 4XL and can replace the battery, you can have a great experience like a brand new phone.

do not buy the pixel 5a i have had so many problems with this phone I've taking it in to the repair place twice and the third time I went they told me google isn't let ppl fix them and sending it through the mail is mess and the longest process it has been 8 days without a phone and there is a delay on repairing just don't do it
