also Vietnamese immigrants....had a conversation with a guy in Orange county, CA that came to the US in the 70's as a refugee after the Vietnam War. He was a hardcore Trump supporter who wanted to build a border wall to keep out Mexicans and Central Americans. I kid you not...there are tons of people like this.

People vote against their own interests all the time.

Voting against your own interests is a intriguing subject. Imagine retiring in sunny Florida from a cold a snowy northern state and then vote to make it illegal and be forced to move back up north. Just that did many Brits in 2016 when they voted for Brexit. Many are now forced to sell their houses and move from Cyprus, Italian, France and other sunny destination popular to retired Brits and move back to rainy Britain. All this because they where racists and hated immigrants never talking about themselves as immigrants living in a foreign country refusing to learn the langue and only staying in areas where all the other Brits lived. back home they talked about forcing immigrants to integrate but would never dream of doing that themselves abroad. They think of themselves as much better and refer to themselves as expatriates (expats). They are the perfect example of voting against your own best interest and having them admit they might have voted in a stupid way is almost impossible.

My former father-in-law is an undocumented worker from Mexico, has lived here in the US for nearly 40 years, and was a Trump supporter. Made no sense. Its really more attitude and bravado over logic.

I am an Indian-American, my parents are Indian immigrants and they were Republicans and many of Indians I know here are Republicans too. But many of them voted for Joe Biden instead of Donald Trump, but many Indians in Indian and America still like Donald Trump very much.
