First Trimester Reality with a Toddler

My first trimester was tough! I’ve mentioned it before, but it was much harder than with my first pregnancy for various reasons.

I had daily fatigue and nausea, which made me not want to eat at all. Almost everything made me sick. I had very little energy. And I had viral bronchitis for 6 weeks thanks to the fall viral season. I’m grateful for this babe, but simultaneously can admit and want to normalize that although I’m grateful, I struggled in the first trimester with physical and mental health.

My mood was greatly impacted by the nausea, fatigue, and inability to eat which made me more irritable and sad most days.

I’m hopeful the remainder of the pregnancy will go smoothly.

During the second trimester, the baby has been craving citrus and spicy foods, so I am enjoying this journey a lot more than the tiredness and nausea. Please heartburn, stay away.

For anyone who has been pregnant more than once, how was the second pregnancy compared to the first?

That’s why you need both parents at home. I couldn’t even imagine letting my gf go through that all alone. That’s torture. We need to stop incentivizing single mothers, it’s not something to be proud of.
