Review: 2022 Honda Civic Si - Better Than Expected

I spend a week with the 2022 Honda Civic Si and come away pleasantly surprised. On paper, the specs for the new Civic Si seem underwhelming compared to the last generation. But thankfully, the car feels much stronger than the numbers suggest and while it may not be the best sport compact value anymore, it still is a solid choice for those looking for 4-door fun under 30k. As-tested, this Civic Si price comes out to $28,710 including destination. Do you agree with the choices Honda made on the 2022 Civic Si? Thanks to Honda for providing this car to review.

Wow, now that’s a review, you left everybody else that did a review on the SI in the dust, you cover every technical aspect of the car. I take off my hat ; I’m officially impressed

Matt Thank you for the fantastic review! I’ve owned my 22 Civic Si for almost two weeks now and I can tell you that your points are right on the money. The car definitely feels faster than 200HP and that is because they Dyno around 200whp. The motor just builds power all the way to redline. The handling of this car is amazing, it handles like is on rails even with the all season tires. The shifter is a throwback to the Honda’s of the past. This car is really an awesome value, a car that is so much fun and rewarding to drive every day.

Just signed papers for mine, with HPD kit. Super pumped. Took ALOT of work, but got a great deal in the end. Get it tomorrow.

Just sold my 2000 Civic DX Coupe had it for 22 years 260, 000 miles on the odometer. It never broke down the only thing I did to it was but a new timing chain in it and 150, 000 miles. Most Reliable Car I ever owned. Bought it for 14, 000 new and sold it yesterday for $2000 body was perfect never in an accident

Nice to see that Honda still keeps the Manual transmission around!

I'm still happy with my 2007 8th gen Si.. being able to rev to 8600 rpm is something I never get tired of.. also I'm nearing 200, 000 kms and still running strong and super reliable.

I cant believe this was a 30 minutes video, it was so good it felt like 10 minutes. I have the 2010 civic si and after all these years this is the one im willing to trade for mine.

It looks like an awesome little(ish) car to rip around town in. Great review and the fact that you put this car right up there with the GR86/BRZ speaks volumes.

Awesome review Matt if not the best. 35 years old and never have owned a new car so I'm glad to say that I am today a proud owner of a 2022 Blazing Orange SI. Now I just have to wait for the vehicle to get delivered to the dealer so I can pick it up and enjoy nice power with sweet mpg and a damn fun ride.

I think one of my favorite things about this car, is that just like back in the 90’s, This Civic puts out more horsepower than Honda is actually stating on paper. Call it a Easter Egg

I picked up the Si in sgp. It really is a great car. The rev hang is nothing like the last gen. Though It’s still present, I especially from 1-2, it’s mostly unnoticeable. The interior is lovely, and I can’t imagine the interior without physical knobs and controls. It’s definitely not fast, but it feels quick. I wish it were faster, but I’m happy.

Love my 23 Si. Wouldn’t buy a car without watching your review first. Been subscribed and watching you for years now. Years before your bullet. Love everything about this car. Coming from a coyote mustang, you think I’d miss the power. But the handling, gas mileage, and practicality are amazing. Plus it’s a blast to drive. Flawless manual transmission!

Hondata also claim the same thing.
I owned the 2020si and now own the 2022 and can tell you the gearing is the same... 3000rpm in sixth gear 120kph. Exactly the same as the 2020, but much better all around..

Great video!

The Si and even any sedan bodied 11th gen Civic, aren't available here in Australia. But after watching this I legitimately feel like I've driven one myself, incredibly thorough review!
