i did pick up the R6 coming from the R I don't feel like it was a step down. The R6 feels sturdy and great ergonomics. Also, as a wedding, portrait and everyday photographer 45MP is way overkill for me. I'm not doing any commercial work or printing billboards work. But buy whatever makes you want to shoot photos, at the end of the day it's your money. lol maybe one day i'll buy a R5 or a second version of it

Hi what is the setting that you can touch to choose a person face or eye without entering focus lock? I am so confused on my R6.

I downloaded and compared the R6 and R5 photos. My conclusion is that, if the object pixels are same(i.e, A woman face which has 20MP in the photo), this will show the same face size when we zoom in 100%, then in this case, R6 noise is better than R5. But if I shoot photo in the same place, with same focus length and same camera settings, I will get bigger MP in R5 than R6 of the same object. When I shrink the object into the same size of the object of R5 photo on the monitor, you will see R5 noise is almost same as the R6 when ISO no more than 12800. 25600 or 51200 R6 would be better.

Another idea is that when you looking into a portrait, if the face of photo in the monitor show as large as I face a real people, I will feel so real. So when I edit the R5's 45 MP half body portrait, when I zoom in 100% in the monitor, it will be this case. I almost see a real face on the screen. I think this may people feel crazy details of the R5. But if I shoot a head only photo of R6, which zoom in 100%, it size also like a real people, I will also feel same crazy details. So I may think the size of portrait in a monitor just like the effect of the apple's retina screen principle.



If I use a R6 and I can get close enough to the object, I will get the same details of R5 and also get better low light performance.

hello vanesa I have a question for you, I would be glad if you answer. Is the iso performance of Canon R5 and R6 the same? If you've used it before, can you compare the iso performance of canon r5 and r6 versus canon 1dxII or 1dxIII?

I decided to go with the R6 mainly due to the price. I am blown away by how awesome this camera is. Its definitely an upgrade from my 7d mark 2. Your videos are the best!

If you have the 5D mark IV as your main body & the 5D mark iii as your back up, what would you suggest getting? I would keep my 5D mark IV as my back up until I was able to purchase 2 mirrorless bodies. Truth, I don’t think the mark IV is that great in low light at all, not sure if you’re familiar with these bodies. And regardless of which one I could use an adapter right because I have all canon L lenses that there is no way I could get rid of. Can you tell a difference using an adapter ?

How is the battery life on the R6 compared to the R5

hey, I was wondering about the 135 F2.0. As you took photos, the focus seemed to get lost and then re-acquired after each photo. It seemed rather slow and 'hunting', not the performance I would have expected. Can you confirm this?
correction: I guess what I see is a focusing issue of the camera you took the video with. When taking the photo the screen turns dark and the video cam loses focus... I guess ;-)

Thanks for using the 135 f2 for the comparison, it's one of my favorite lenses, and great to know that it can go down to 1/25 on the R5.... pretty crazy, as 1/125 is usually pushing it with all of the previous canon cameras I've owned.
