HOW TO USE SYNC PROPERLY | HUGE BPM TRANSITIONS

Hi Beat Hackers,

A lot of DJs hate on all new DJs using the sync button. The reason for this is because they think you should learn how to beatmatch properly rather than just having the technology do it for you.
BUT if I am honest, I do NOT have a problem with it and I actually use the sync button for THIS ONE TRANSITION.

Here is the question though, do I think you should use the sync button for every transition and never learn how to beat match by ear?

No, I don't, because I think it is essential that you develop this skill, so you have both options available. This will also make you far more confident behind the DJ decks!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video, let me know what you think :)

Phil

well done sir, I learn something from you everytime I watch!! Someone stole all of my equipment 3 weeks ago and I'm still watching!!! one day I'll reinvest again.

I did this on my mix set. One track was 100 bpm and the second track was 125 bpm and it worked perfectly.

This is the true proper power of sync that the trolls can never admit to. Great example for those not familiar. Thanks as always

Thanks Phil ! this is very helpful.. Often times when the BPM are that different, I would just normally drop it on the one but this is a very creative little technique !

Very helpful information. I always was scared to go to a higher Bpm that would sound terrible! But with this I can feel confident I can make my transition smooth and easy on the ears!!! Thanks again!!

Very good! Beginner make using the tempo slider look easy. Anytime I touch mine it goes nuts!! Way too sensitive. Is it because controller is so new or do I need practice lol.

Love your breakdowns my dude... anyway we can get a setting beat grids video, I feel like your style would be easy to learn... they are a fkn nightmare to do sometimes..

In my opinion, I don’t really like sync, but I think it’s fine to use when jumping up or down a lot of bpm. I do typically have to use it for that reason a lot since I have the ddj 202, the bpm fader is very small.

the tunes somewhere around 90-100 BPM is not favourable for me at all, but with your technique I think it all sorted

Does anyone know how to take a track off of sync? Because after doing this I tried to mix in another song but the tempo fader would not work even when the sync button was off.

Am I reading that right - that 30bpm jump was over just the 8 bar outro?

And as always, finished playing around for a few dozen tracks and go to youtube for lunch and now there is more dj tutorials to mess with..

Also cant seem to find any videos on it, but does anyone know an easy way to work with two songs that are different time signatures or harshly fluctuating bpm? I have one annoying track that seems to switch to 3/4 time when it gets to the drop sections and just doing a basic drop swap feels really weird for pacing
