I just got my son a nice 01 yz125. He loves it. Very reliable bike and fast as hell.

I think the 125 / 150 class is the most fun bike out of the 2 stroke class. MX bikes on trails are tons of fun. I think its a good idea, if you can, a 300 for the gnar and a 125 or 150 for the fun factor on trails that let you hit the pipe

I might be going out on a limb here, but you might be a little rich on that pilot.

Can tell it’s not stock by how you have enough low end to lug it around and the power still picks up and gets into the mid without slipping the clutch. Ride my 125 in the trails as well and go up a lot of steep stuff here in Colorado, had to throw a 51 tooth sprocket on it but if you carry momentum and work the bike right, you can get thru some gnarly stuff. Riding a 125 hard, being in rhythm/flow is so satisfying

I had an 83 CR 125 that I took everywhere. On the trails, off the trails through the sticks, across creeks, random hill climbs....

I have a cr125 that i ride trails with and im not the best rider so it is a handful as far as finding the right gear and keeping momentum but it has taken me thru some extremely technical terrain with ease

Great bike man sounds amazing. Reminds me of my 2007YZ125. Ive got an ECU on it, vforce, fmf fatty system, and i run 32:1 with race gas. I normally ride mx and keep it screaming but it does just fine in the trails.

I raced an all stock 5 hour 2018 yz125 during a 50 mile endurance race in the desert, bike ran perfect and womped on the straights very light in the corners you could throw it in a corner and it’ll just dig itself out

I have a 2009 YZ 125, Apex MX head for 91 octane, Keihin Carb, STIC Metering Block, V4r reeds, stock pipe and silencer. Bike is a monster on a mx track, but still works great in the woods. Only have to lean out the air screw a little bit to make it good for trails.

Im surprised to hear it have the grunt that it has, I thought these were really on/off power. Anyway Id be looking at the 125x.

Lads, i have a YZ250 2 smoker i was looking to get another bike for friends to ride when they come over, are the 125s a good all rounder?

I think that it really comes down to personal opinion, I had a yz144 with a PC pipe force reeds and all. It had decent power but unless you want to be constantly at around 15, 000 rpms then its not a good bike for you you have to keep it pinned CONSTANTLY. If you are a decent rider in my opinion it would be way better to get a 250 2t with much better torque compared to a 125 and not much heavier.

Love smokers! I have a 90 yz125 now. I used to ride a CR500 on trails too. Anything works.
