🎀✂️ How To Add Pockets to Skirts ✂️🎀

Ever been out wearing a skirt and thought, "Dang I wish I had some pockets..." then this video is for you! Here is a (sort of) step by step guide on how to add a pocket to the side seam of a pre-existing garment. This adds a lot of functionality to the garment, and can help you use up your scraps! Rock that crazy floral pattern in your work skirts - no one has to know ;) Next week I will also be making a tutorial for how to turn fake jean pockets into real ones!

Do you happen to know why it is important to start the seam for sewing the pocket together like it is part of the side seam? like, do you need to be sure to have a couple inches on the side seam above and below the pocket? is this for strength? thank you!! i just found your videos and have been really enjoying spending time with your perspective <3
