How To Use iZotope Stutter Edit 2 with Protoculture

Protoculture checks out iZotope and BT's newly updated glitch effect plugin Stutter Edit 2 in this week's short 'How To Use' course.

With a ton of new features, this is a huge upgrade where every parameter can be edited using the envelope window.

Here Nate demo's some of the awesome sounds Stutter Edit 2 can make and takes us through the main controls on how it all works however he's really just scratching the surface.

This is definitely one of those super fun plugins that you can lose a lot of hours playing with.

Great tut. I had written off Stutter Edit 2 after trying the trial and watching a few YT vids until I saw yours today. Now I can see how this tool could be used in MIDI, audio, and split stereo effects. Nice. Thank you.

Nice demo. I got this on special today as an upgrade to version 1 which I've had pretty much since it came out. New features are nice, but wth happened to the interface? Version 1 was easy to follow, and easy to read making it really easy to come up with your own unique recipes. This looks abysmal. It's so dark it's almost impossible to read, and parameters just look randomly placed on the overall interface. Hope I can get used to it, otherwise I'll stick with the limited feature set of version 1. Afterall, its no good having features if the interface kills your inspiration to use it.

I figured how to use it but how do we record the midi input so it stays in the track? I can play my keyboard live but I don't know how to record the results. I tried to record the midi track of the plugin but it stays tranparent and does not playback the effects. If anyone can help, Thanks.

I don't understand why there is still a second track needed for feeding in the MIDI notes...
With other plugins (e.g. Shaper Box) this is possible on the same track the plugin has been inserted.

I BELIEVE THAT THIS PLUGIN IS VERY USEFUL FOR ARTISTS WHO PLAY TRAP MUSIC. BUT USE WITH A SUBTLE SENSITIVITY IT MAY BE RELEVANT. IS IZOTOPE A SUPERB ASSISTANT? Can you program Auto mode to only trigger on specific sections of a track, or is it limited to being on the whole time? Thanks!
