It’s tough to make a complaint when EVERYONE there is in on it.

Remember, Human Resources doesn’t care about the employee- it’s main concern is protecting the company. Period.

If you are being bullied, harrassed, defamed, falsey accused, and assaulted at work or at school, I want you too do this:
Print this out onto a Piece of paper and post it to your wall:

"You Reap What You Sow and More Than You Sow" Galatians 6

These bullies who are bullying you will get their Comeuppance

I changed depts. to get away from a harassing manager. She then kept tabs on me with frequent phone calls to my new manager, who got fed up and told her to quit calling. At another job, I changed my hours to get away from a co-worker/manager who was harassing me. Shortly after, the harasser changed her hours so we were working together again. Unreal! The new hours were inconvenient for her, but I guess stalking me was worth it? After some months, she went back to her old hours as I guessed that she would. What in the world causes people to go out of their way to pester people?

There is no law against harassment at work and the perpetrators know this very well, that’s why they are having a field day doing it. They do not care, they know the lack of laws gives their target nothing to protect themselves. Until a clear law comes up, good people will suffer greatly. People who are not in a “protected group”, have no protection.

Being falsely accused of doing something repeatedly could be considered harassment. Creating a hostile environment of suspicion could be considered harassment to. People have a bad habit of doing this at work

Everything I just went through in the last 7 months is what you just described.

When one is the minority physically or even mentally (high function autism / aspergers for instance), the chances of workplace harassment absolutely go up and is perhaps often the case.

Deliberately disrupting your life, your sleep, your health - harassment is quite suspect

A co-worker has been harassing me and making passive-aggressive remarks/comments toward me for about a year or so. Management has been notified of these reoccurring comments/incidents and said they would talk to her. I was never sat down for a follow-up afterward to confirm this "sit down" or told that this co-worker has been talked to and told to stop harassing me. This co-worker has spread rumors about me and told a server that she enjoys “messing with me.” on July 4th she screamed my name in the kitchen “somebody tell jamie to grab ice” she then proceeded to say that this was my running side work and that I’m responsible for grabbing ice when there was also 3 other servers assigned to this specific side work. I have taken a picture of the team sheet as proof to show it was not only me with this side work to prove that she was specifically coming at me. She then proceeded that she was going to "knock the shit out of me" during our dinner rush in the middle of the kitchen. She has gotten other co-workers to also engage in this harassment towards me. About 5 minutes after the incident with this co-worker, her friend got in my face and started to clap her hands near my face. She told me that nobody here likes me and that I am useless as a worker here. I do not feel safe working in this type of working environment. The next day I was taken off the schedule around 3 pm. The other 2 individuals had also been removed and then reinstated. I was told that I would not be put back on the schedule until the Store Manager talked with me. Which I had difficulty setting up a mutual time with him. I came in with my mother as a support system and he refused to talk and meet with me unless she was not present with us. He also told us that he “only had 10 minutes to talk” because he had an MVA meeting and this was basically dipping into his vacation time. The store manager told me during the meeting that all of us get fired or all of us ignore each other and keep our jobs. I feel that it is unfair that I would lose my job because of this situation that I did not provoke. HR told me that they would make the store manager write up official/formal documentation of this incident. I would like to know how I can go further with this and I would like to know what my rights are in this type of situation.

I was told by a lawyer that the law expects people to be thick-skinned. When my ability was undermined to work for a certain company, a federal judge said, "That's unfortunate."

As a professional HGVPSV driver and driving instructor I worked at Hermes / EVRI until yesterday when I left the job. HERMES have a policy of calling HGV driver's while they are working...the call is nonsense because the vehicle is tracked so they know where it is at all times...the real reason is to harass the driver to speed or miss legally required breaks in order to meet Amazon impossible deadlines..I am preparing my case and evidence ready for court

Larger companies are not lenient on harassment and violence in the workplace. Smaller local companies usually don’t care. That’s why you don’t work local. They’re not going anywhere with that attitude.

Do not leave! Document everything and everyone who participates in the protected categories severe, pervasive, unsolicited, unwarranted verbal, telephonic, or email infringements. Try to get all things in writing and coworkers names, positions, and contact information outside of work as work place emails can be compromised. Find out who You complain to and know that the persons will be informed so be brave! Do not quit!

Can a company retaliate if you threaten legal action due to persisting harrassment that has been reported?

What if they threaten you by telling you to leave when you stand up for the way their treating you? Leaving in our workplace directed by a manager is another way of them saying your getting terminated

It almost seems pointless to have a law that only applies if you're in a protected class. The psychological damage is the same if not worse for all the rest of the situations. The country would be a better place if they applied the law to not only the obvious discrimination type. The discrimination type shouldn't even be under the same topic

Thank you, this gives me a start. I absolutely have experienced these things, but my manager has finally decided to listen after 2 years and brushed me off to "talk to HR", but she also said "now that I put it all together, I think you have a bullying story". What, why haven't you fired this psycho?! My next step is to talk to HR when I get all my ducks in a row. This guy is not getting away with this, and I've seen about 10 other people ask me about "what's his deal?".

Okay but what if you send a written message to the person asking them to stop and they deny they did the harassment in their written response back to you? And deny it to the boss, who they are friends with?
