Watching this episode I was both proud and saddened. While I knew that the history of the Taino was horrific, I had only known about it in theory. Listening to you tell the story had tears streaming down my face. Thank you, Thank you for telling the story of my ancestors!

My great grandmother name is Luisa and lived in Puerto Rico, my grandmother and her many siblings lived in straw like huts in Arecibo before it changed to houses. Thank you, I came up in DNA results with indigenous Puerto Rico. Your videos are helping me fill that empty void of history that is not taught here in East coast of “United States “.

This video is so powerful and strengthening, and very very sad as well. That list is priceless and contains the names of our possible female ancestors. It is strange to think that many of us are a mixture of oppressors and oppressed. Spanish and Taino, Jewish and German.... I cry everyday for the pain my ancestors went through and it gives me compassion for others who have suffered.

I know this one was hard to do. Is there any info on female caciques from Cuba or Xaymaca? Very curious. But I understand if you're reluctant to make more of these.

I was wondering about this story. Basically about the men that columbus left. It does describe some detail in "the taino"
