Anytime black ppl try to connect/ bond with other ethnicities of black people white ppl get upset when they have nothing to do with it. A white man got upset because my aunt said I was black being I’m afro Latina… he wanted to claim me as half white person because he thought I was super gorgeous… he said my mom must’ve slept with a white man and lied about who my dad was… because I’m lighter skinned with a red tone and I have shiny black curls so ppl assume I’m biracial when I’m indeed just ethnicity ambiguous being I’m Hispanic.

just because somone is brown...does not mean they are "black"

this is like a black equivilent of saying all asian races are identical.

This is insulting. I hate that slavery erased all our taíno peoples past and we can have anyone ignorant person trying to claim my heritage.

Idk where this bs comes from cause my grandmother was 75% taino, 25% african blood. She was dark but she wasn't black or had features of an African person.

Black is not a race, it's a color. The copper color races are various colors of brown, dark brown, copper. More Indigenous people are waking up.

We need to rethink the term "black". Black implies African but arawak were not African descendents

As a REAL Mojave Native, I can say that this tagline is inaccurate as f***. 😂

It’s so crazy that they acknowledge aboriginal Australians, Melanesians, East Asians, indigenous asli etc as dark skinned people with no relations to Africa but yet it’s so hard to fathom that black Americans aren’t.

Stop using Afrocentrism as a source.
It's like white people saying they're the original egyptians.
Y'all are both goofy.

Sincerely a half indigenous/Amerindian woman

Coming from a Puerto Rican. No, the “Arawak” Taino people were not black. Though the two races mixed later in time. The two peoples(Arawak & African) would have had no idea of eachothers existence until after Christopher Colombus would’ve landed in the Caribbean and the Spanish and others would eventually come and settle.

The natives in the picture have thin straight soft hair. I don’t see any nappy kinky hair
