Over here when a house centipede is seen scurrying around it's going on it's merry way, because it gets rid of other pests.
It's good to know people are starting to put away their ancestral fears and ng to realize symbiotic relationships we have with nature even in ways we know nothing about. Nature is fascinating

thank you for this enlightening report on house centipedes, which I've been calling "silverfish" all these years for some reason. I don't usually mind bugs, and I encourage spiders, but these guys have been on the hit list... until now. It's nice to know they are not only harmless, but actually helpful.

I was taking a piss and saw a centipede ran out of the bathroom from under the door. In fear I stopped pissing, ran out and to my shock I could not find it. I went back to empty my bladder but there was a nasty feeling left in my chest that I still feel sometimes in the bathroom. Thank you for the video, it drove away my fears.

thank you for making this video, seriously, I was busy making an essay about the larvea of waxmoths and how they could eat and digest plastic so this video was very helpful

My BFF of 30 years had to have maggot therapy on his legs. He had ulcers all over his calves that weren't healing so he had maggot therapy prescribed to his legs. Not even IV antibiotics healed his legs but the maggots ate all the dead skin/tissues & his legs healed up in mere months.

I never kill spiders in my home... They don't bother me, I recognize their usefulness, and I appreciate the work that goes in their

I have a few of those tiny geckos that randomly became my housemate. Best pest control ever. Haven't seen any house spiders and cockroaches are a rare sight. They'd even prey on mosquitos while I sleep soundly. Only downside being occasionally stumbling upon gecko poops.

I saw a video of this tribal village house infested with termites. So what they did was go out and get this certain type of red ant that they hold sacred. They introduced the red ant to the colony and after a while the red ants drove the termites out. Interesting

I take issue with how often you drop the "house" in house centipede. Where I live, I don't think I've ever seen a house centipede, but I have seen tons of scolopendra centipedes. Those ones are big, can bite humans and have a fairly painful venom, are more likely to be in your house just to avoid bad weather rather than to hunt pests, and are very tough and hard to kill compared to other bugs.

Yeah, i love huntsman wandering around our house, and safely release them to wild when mom gonna spray insecticide ls, i protect the golden orb weaver spider on our electrical post from kids that want to capture and olay or kill them. I hate some creepy insects at first but once i learned their purpose to us, i loved and protected them. Specially the huntsman spiders, my girlfriend was once scared to it too but after i told her that it only hunts her worst enemy (roaches) she loved them too, happy whenever she saw one wandering around and feel more comfortable. We still don't want to touch them cuz it still creeped us out. I remembered last time. I tried saving one caught by a orb weaver web. Hungry, exhausted, and weak. I killed a big roach and brought it to him/her after outting out the outher webs entangled to its legs, then i finally touched it and not get scared. It didn't rected when i removed the webs and out it to a safe place with the dead roach, well half dead roach. Welp next day i was releaved when its gone and the roach was partially missing. So happy and told my girl about it and praised me. You may say I'm a bit weird or something but atleast im happy the eight legged guy.

My dad had problems with scorpions in his garage. So he went through it removing anything that an insect could eat, also making sure there’s no standing water or moisture collecting anywhere. And in other words, he remove the food source for the scorpions. The scorpions left. no food, no bugs, no scorpions.

👍 After seeing several videos acclaiming the great reputation and value of centipedes, I have come to be a champion of their existence and saved two that had fallen into my (dry) laundry tubs and couldn't clime out. They used to terrify me, but I have mellowed a lot. I have never seen one of these creatures scurry across the floors of my home (I am sure they do, once in awhile), but they primarily thrive in my basement/laundry aera. Great video---thanks.
