0:26 “Remember I’m still a student & not perfect so be nice in the comments!”

i feel so bad reading some of the comments. you already mentioned you’re a nursing student and you’re still learning. i’m a nursing student myself and i couldn’t help but feel terrible about how people reacted. my lab doesn’t have enough money to keep supplying a bunch of materials either and for most of it we have to pay for (which is only a limited amount of equipment to use so you have to keep reusing things). obviously in a medical setting this would never happen, but when you’re learning it’s okay to make mistakes (in the laboratory setting), as of now there’s a professor to help teach you and other instructors. i’m sure a lot of the comments have good intent and only want to make sure no one is harmed, but you’re still learning and you got this! you will be a great nurse someday (if not already) 💓

All the negative comments just go to show that bullying is the #1 complaint of new nurses.

Wipe the skin before to allow at least 10 seconds to dry
Based on the amount of liquid and the size of the needle, this is an IM injection so always go in at 90 degrees (sub-q can be 45 if pt is skinny)
Since the needle is not a blunt needle access device and looks like it has a bevel, it’s definitely okay to stick the pt with it (just keep in mind that some solutions will need a blunt access device because they’re thicker!)

The best thing ab labs is you get to make all the mistakes before you get on the floor. Keep practicing girly!

You never use the same needle on the patient that you draw medication for

The worst part is not being able to actually use the disposable supplies because they save them for reuse! Its completely different in a hospital setting where you have to tear off a wrapper, pop off a vial cap, open an alcohol swab and change the needles - all without laying anything down.

Good prep! Straight in 90 degrees next time! That was my favorite part too, but we injected each other in my cheap school. 😂

It musts take a lot of courage to do that kind of stuff I hope you become a doctor one day and I hope you have a great time being a doctor❤❤❤

You should change the needle before injecting!

Learn to recap totally without touching the cap r only touching the base of the cap to lock close after covering. Always imagine surveillance mgr close by. Good luck stay safe and best of luck.

Please never re sheath, it's asking for needle stick injuries. Also trick to doing an intramuscular injection is hold it like a dart

you did not draw medication to check if it is in the blood vessels

i want to be a pediatric nurse, i’ve had my head set on it for a while but i’m like so unsure where to start. i’m going into high school next year & i’m not sure if the programs that they have there for nursing are any real help or not, and i have absolutely no idea where to start if i DONT take those kinds of classes. would anything help with this??

This is all wrong. That is an IM injection needle, so it goes at 90 degree angle. Also, did not inject air into vial, that’s why you had difficulty withdrawing solution. Plus, do not recap needle.

Push back plunger before inserting medicine for IM injections wether it is in. Musle or vein
