I just got rejected from my school of choice for nursing and I’m crushed. I have one more letter I’m waiting on and I’m holding out hope.

I started nursing school ten years ago. I didn’t do well for many reasons, I was a single mom with little support and no money and I was going through a very difficult break up. I let my personal life interfere with my goals. I also attended a program that required a very high mark to progress in the program (82%) At the time, I convinced myself that nursing wasn’t for me but in hindsight and as an older more experienced adult I realized my situation wasn’t conducive to being successful at any project. After a few years, I decided to give nursing another try. I completed an LPN program first because I was scared of not doing well in an RN program again. I loved it and loved working as an LPN! Last year I applied to a bridge program and with God’s help, I’ll be graduating in May with my RN! Don’t ever give up on your dreams! Thank you for your videos 😊

i totally didnt know it at the time, but I found out that the community college i applied/go to had the most competitive Nursing program out of all the colleges in my university. Community college is no joke. Glad to hear you had the drive to not give up! <3

Getting accepted at a community college nursing program is like survival of the fittest! It’s extremely competitive because they have limited seats. In mine, only 50 students can get in per semester. Last semester only 22 graduated. 100% NCLEX passing rate.

Honestly, getting into nursing school is PURE luck. You could have a 4.0 and hundreds of volunteer hours and still not make it until you’re 3rd time. That’s exactly what my school said. Pure luck. But still try hard obviously but also pray or do whatever you can, manifest wtv.

Never give up! I’m a 15 yr cancer survivor who has seen too much 😆 & understand how important caring & compassionate individuals are! Even my oncology social worker who gave me fuel cards that were donations, was a great asset to healthcare. Medical receptionists, we love you! You take our stressed out calls as we attempt to get our results from nurses. I went to JCCC…Johnson County Community College (KC) & CCM…County College of Morris (NJ) for some nursing pre-reqs & they were excellent community colleges. I agree w/ just getting your foot in the door! In HS, I was a traypasser in food service at a hospital. So 10 yrs later, when getting a nurse asst job at Morristown Memorial in Ortho Surgical wing, I was immediately comfortable w/ walking into the hospital room to cheer up the patient & take vitals. I couldn’t continue college due to IBS & un-dx anemia, all pre-colon cancer. I was then unable to go back to any associates degree due to CIPN (chemo induced PN). So we need YOU! Please never give up! ❤

I’m ready to just give up. Healthcare is impossible at time. If been in this field for 24 years and this is the most defeated I’ve ever felt.

Hi! Thank you very much for posting this. I'm still a college freshman and I'm taking prerequisites and I'm kind of scared of being in a situation where I get rejected and don't have anywhere to go. There is a BSN program really close to me, only a train ride away. But it's really told me that they were waitlisted with a 4.0 GPA :0. But your video motivated me, so for that I thank you

I was up against 1000's of other students and had a 3.8 GPA. This was in California. I moved to a small town in AZ and got in because there is no competition. Everyone gets in. I own a large house for way less than renting in los angeles. If you move to a small town, you will get in and become a nurse in a couples and then you can move anywhere you want.

Stats is something that either you get or dont and comes down to one of one of 2 things:

Either a hard class and you dont get it or
its a easy class and comes naturally

Everyone i spoke to has been on one of either side and never hear a median it was okay

Please pick your professors wisely. You could be very smart and study as much as you want. But if the professor is bad at teaching. It’s going to be difficult to pass.
