This tyres are unbelievable, i put 1000 miles on them last week motorway they are so comfortable no tyres noise whats a ever good, I can’t comment about grip as I don’t race but coming off roundabout rear don’t slip .Very very happy .

I fitted these to my 128ti and the difference was massive! The "old" tyres were Pirelli P Zeros and came with the car when new in October 2022. And they were shocking. The Michelins brought improvements in grip but also in terms of ride comfort - far less crashy and much more supple.

went from primacy hp to ps5 on my brz and the difference was insane. Driving in the wet no long has me sideways half the time

I can confirm! Went from super sport to ps5 on the m140i, the grip level is so much beter (especially in the rain)! Even without the lsd i have grip in second gear. (Saving up for an OS Giken Superlock or m performance lsd.)

Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 6 or Michelin Pilot Sport 5’s?

I had factory fitted PSS* on my M240i which were bonkers in the dry but had to change as they hate cold temps! I was deciding between GY A6 and MPS5. I went for the MPS5s as one of "Mr Benson's" videos mentioned aquaplaning which I have experienced and was keen to avoid.
In short, TO ME, the MPS5 felt quite a bit of a touring tyre compared to the MPSS. It was a great tyre re: grip and cold/wet but so much understeer and not very quiet and didn't feel "sporty". I put on GY A6s now and it's night & day - much quieter, more "sporty" feel and great sidewall protection- something the MPS5 lacks, as I found out last summer on a trip across to Bratislava and back. Just my "2 penneth", as I see most here drive the m14oi. Informative video. Thanks🎉👍

It is hard to push most tyres so hard to rank them on the street. Most ultra high performance tyres have similar performance. Sometimes slightly better in the wet or the dry, or better steering feel.

The PS5 aren't designed to significantly outperform the PS4 dynamic performance, but they are designed to improve tyre life though. Considering how good the PS4 tyres are that isn't such a bad thing.

I haven't used the PS-5, but I have used the PS -4 and currently have Goodyear Assymetric 6. The Goodyears are much better, especially in the cold and damp.

Great video. Now I want to investigate summer tyre options for my F31 340i. Need run-flats though and not sure PS5 tyres offer that. Will go investigate...

Reg, I have these tyres now fitted for 2500km. Starting with the negatives, they are completely different in steering feel compared to MPSS. Very light steering almost too light I’d say, it almost felt like my car was jacked up when I drove the first meters from the tyre shop. But also came from worn down 3mm MPSS, hopefully the steering weights up a bit more and they wear. You have to get used to this first when starting to push the car. They are also quite comfortable, ridges are nicely absorbed and feel they are more polished out. Positives, loads of grip, I thing on the road with daily driving it’s very hard to push to the limit of these. Putting power down is going easily with stock power & LSD. I can floor it in the wet without DSC intervening. Car feels like on rails in the wet, strong braking as well. They look neat as well. Next time I might go for PS4 * codes ones or ND0 Porsche spec ones hopefully they have better steering feel. Cheers!

I just mounted the PS5 on my Mazda MX5 ND RF ex184hp. They look beautiful. I did not have much time to try those out yet. I hope i took the right choice. I am used to have Bridgestone.

I bought the michelin pilot sport 4s, anyone I know and see talking about it said its the best tyre for your daily car. The cup 2 is even better but I don't do any tracks so its a waste of money .

Reg great video again. How about you fit the Reiger rear diffuser for us and show us how it’s done? 👍👍👍
Keep up the good work

Nice video Reg. Completely agree, I made the switch in Summer and it's such a better tyre!

Nice video. Was about to pull the trigger on some Asymmetric 6's, but this has got me thinking. Seat Leon Fr sport 2.0 TSI. So hardly a flying machine, but sporty enough to warrant some good tyres...

Thanks Reg, great video. I was thinking of these for my M140i as still on the original supersports that came with the car from new in 2017. (Yes only done 12000 miles in 5.5 years) and I really do struggle for grip now even though I still have 5mm of tread. I was looking around for tyres and after your video will be getting these PS5's ordered this week. Thanks mate. Stay safe and well.

I had Michelin PS5 on all corners of my Toyota Supra Mk5 and noticed that at 20k miles awful noise from the wheels ... when taking it to a garage they showed me that all four tyres had worn unevenly on the inside edges .. the tyres were essentially no longer round ... it was noticed that all four tyres has worn differently on the wear indicator areas ( 3 dot blocks) ... FYI .. alignment was spot on and car never driven hard or tracked. 20K is good for a set of tyres but with 5mm left it did mean that i still had to change them prematurely.
