Come on guys, FSD has to be included in the price of the robotaxi. Without FSD, it would just be an extremely large robo doorstop. i.e . no pedals or steering wheel.

There is a whole load of hopium going in with regard to reducing congestion and parking.

If you shift more people out of mass transit into individual cars then traffic congestion will increase.

Once someone is dropped at their destination the car will either need to park or will continue contributing the congestion.

Washing clothes was once a huge chore. These days most people have a washing machine. However, I have never met anyone who said I just do not know what to do with all the spare time I have now. Similar lawns were once cut with shears. Vacuum cleaners. Fridges. All this technology and we still keep finding things to fill our day. I suspect even when we all have a Tesla robot we will still be doing loads of jobs.

Dr. Know it All just confirmed over on his channel that the Robotaxis at the event were carbon fiber vinyl wrapped; but will change once they get into the production versions.

For me, it seemed also that the robots were remote operated. The conversations were to fluent and somehow more human answers. Including that happy birthday scene. The arm movements reminded me too as movements from CP3O. A robot would not move the arms, because there is no need to, and it wants to save energy.

Someone help me understand why there will be no traffic with autonomous vehicles? Will people no longer need to go to work? I am trying to understand how not having to control you car means there won't still be a shit ton of cars on the road in most cities?

Please explain the "no need for parking" when referring to the butterfly door clearance while parking. Where does it go when it doesn't have a customer. Just drives around MT? Never stops? Never parks at a grocery store while someone runs in for something, etc...?

If we are to believe Musk, by now we'd have millions of driverless cars, fully functional robots, and a base on Mars. Instead we have cars that don't move, robots controlled by humans, and no notion of going to Mars. Musk is notorious for promising one thing and delivering another. Musk is basically a guy selling gold sneakers and trading cards, but the high tech product versions. I appreciate his desire to move tech forward, but he's a slick salesman more than anything. A certain faction of people want to believe, so they always get excited by the sizzle.

There wont be traffic anymore? It seems that there will be more traffic as more people will be using robotaxis instead of public transport. Imagine, everyone will call a robotaxi at 5pm to leave work. It is going to be a mayhem. I hope I am mistaken, but not sure how it is gonna be sorted.

Today's stock drop mirrors my overall feeling of the event. It was poorly executed. The turn signal issue? Did he mention AI?I was expecting more of "the future is now" rather than the future is 2 years away.

Jack-knife doors would be better... same access but the doors take less space. The butterfly doors will still get in the way of traffic when they open.

Let me break the suspense, there’s not a chance in hell those robots were operating autonomously last night.

the bots were 100% teleoperated. no way they programmed the bots to pose for photos. Also the movements seemed like a person trying to move something with no sensors and lag. Not very precise and very floaty hands. Shows the bot can still do it hardware wise but they are not there software wise

How will they be just on the road? I'm lost on how this would change parking lots and road traffic.
