I got the sense that you weren't trying to sell me anything, that you genuinely cared about helping. That's so rare in videos like these.

Ngl, I feel very lucky right now. I've been taking IT classes in school since I was 14 years old and now at 16 I can code HTML, CSS and basic JS. I'll be continuing the course until graduation but want to learn programming independently as well!

I loved taking CS50 this past Feb-March. Then I moved to Pluralsight they offered April for free so I was able to take 30+ hours of JavaScript and React courses. Highly recommend. I just got accepted to a FREE 14-week full stack bootcamp. I absolutely love your page and I’m so inspired by you. I took your advice from a previous video and decided to focus on one language versus learning many. I really wanted to squeeze Python in my free month lol. Thank you!!

Feedback, you did an amazing job explaining how to get started with coding. You came across as a seasoned professional and kept my attention as you didn't say things like um, you guys etc. I applaud your ability to speak with such confidence about the subject
I am a IT web developer, graduated in 2013 from UOP, I have been to countless interviews and always get the message that they like me and think I would fit into the culture well but to be honest they are looking for someone with 3 to 5 yrs experience. When asked if they could suggest how to get that experience, they said volunteer my services! LOL right, I am 67 yrs old, have a mortgage, car payments, insurance and all the other bills to pay each month. I have to work to pay those bills I don't live at home with Mom and Dad.
So after a year or so of searching I gave up and went back to the hospitality industry and during that time have designed a few wed sites for friendsl It's been a while since I have done any coding. I think what you have offered would be a great way for me to revisit the skills that I learned in school. Thank you for working so hard to help others realize their dreams!

Could you discuss the different fields of software engineering with examples? Also front end vs back end development and how one may go about choosing which to concentrate on. Thanks a ton!

A smile cross my face whenever I see a female developer. There isn't more of those out there.

I was having a conversation with my Dad. I told him I want to get into the IT Field but I don't know where to start. He told me, start somewhere. Your first option may not be the best option, but start somewhere and adjust as you go along.

When she said "Stop watching videos", that really hit me and reminded me of my conversation with my Dad. I watched the rest of this video and signed up for the Google IT Support Cert Course via Coursera. For me, it makes sense to begin with the fundamentals of computer science and figure out what field I want to go in from there.

The point is, I took both her and Dad's advice, I stopped watching all these videos and started somewhere. I hope to report back in 3-6 months!!

Thank you so much for you support, I live in Brazil, born and raised, so the first thing I've had to do was learning English at decent level, due to the huge amount of resources available in English, now I'm struggling to learn how to code.
