I would like to recommend 2 youtube channels: 1. Chinese comprehensible input, the name says what it is about. 2. Mandarin corner: this channel has interviews, vlogs and the old/new hsk vocab sentences, which is perfect because you learn words in the context and you can also learn sentence patterns.

Hello 你好!Thanks very much for creating this video. I first saw your video with the English Teacher (Forrest) and am impressed with you. I started leaning Mandarin using Duolingo but switched to using the online course from YoyoChinese. Thanks for the tips about Hello Chinese and Ling. 我爱中国文化!

Great video. As a native English speaker who is trying to learn Mandarin I'd say the tones themselves though aren't as difficult as some of the tone combinations(e.g. 4th into 3rd), also tonal sandhi was really cool when I learned it. I don't know of a more suitable show but IMHO 家有儿女 is a little complex for people who are just starting, audible has books that are anywhere from free to cheap.

In my case, as a Spanish native speaker, the pronunciation is challenging haha. It's not imposible, but I personally can't do it. Grammar is so easy, Pearly is right.

I recommend a good TV series to learn Chinese (go ahead) 中文名好像叫 以家之名,在youtube上就有的看。

Hi girl i just want to say that this is a great video👍💯 and i totaly can understand why the natives cant really think of their own language as a hard one as an arab i never think arabic is difficult until i look at the grammer it was hard even for me thank you for this video also can you give an advice about how can i fix my french while learning spanish without mixing them? i will be thrilled if you reply to this comment , I am big fan💓, keep the great work

Chinese people like to say that their grammar is easier, but their grammar is not easier. It's not easy to change the way you think. It's not easy to forget about words that you always think about. Just because you don't have to conjugate verbs, that doesn't mean you don't have to do anything. Just because a verb stays the same, doesn't mean that the sentence stays the same. I can argue that English is so easy that even a three-year-old child can learn it without ever going to school, and you can say the same thing about Chinese.

Reason Chinese is most difficult, is because it functions very differently compared to other languages. People who speak tonal languages, their brains develop differently than those of other languages. Chinese grammar is not difficult, what makes its difficult is when you going to the stage where you have to think, speak and listen in Chinese like you do normally in your native language, this will much much more longer to get used to compared to other languages.

I have been studying by myself for 2 years now. I love it! 但因紧张我多次没聊天了 😢 好多机会但我说了没什么 😂 我现在知道,如果我没聊天,我不会学!

Unfortunately, Mandarin is no.3 of the languages I really want to learn (working my way through Japanese and just started Korean), but this seems to be to be a great introductory video. So many English speakers get intimidated by mandarin because of the tones and writing, but people I know who've learnt it say that once you get past that, its an exhilarating experience to learn it properly, and not nearly as hard as some other languages.
