Drone footage reveals full extent of devastating tornado destruction in Kentucky

Drone footage has revealed the shocking extent of the destruction caused by a deadly tornado that ripped through Kentucky on Friday night.

The city of Mayfield was one of the worst-hit areas, with state governor Andy Beshear saying the damage was “some of the worst” he’s seen “in a long time”.

Drone footage from the area shows buildings and houses completely flattened by the twister, with debris and rubble scattered across what remains of the community.

At least 70 people are believed to have died in Kentucky, with many more still trapped or injured.

For years I have been puzzled as to why they build most of their buildings out of wood in Tornado Alley. Use bricks and mortar! The people there need proper buildings, never mind throwing away hundreds of billions on the military industrial complex, where each screwdriver costs a thousand quid!

Thank God our current president immediately promised his sympathy and the full support of the Federal government. All California got from the last president (and many of his followers) was ridicule and accusations. It is good to see Americans work together again, and those affected by this tornado will receive the support of an entire nation.
