He was an American Soldier who was imprisioned for going AWOL. It was a very good movie. A bit slow but I wish they would do a sequel.

My favourite part was when he said, "It's Morbin' time!" and morbed all of the opposing enemies. Truly the one of the movie moments in history!!!

Loyalty: be there no matter what and stay with close people you care

Being a Gaijin in Japan is already difficult since there are such much unwritten social rules, so I guess it would be even more difficult in the Yakuza, who value old traditions.

Movie gets a hard time but I actually enjoyed it being a bit different and interesting how it follows the yakuza storyline from the outsider perspective, acting is done very well aswell so defo worth a watch!

Nick was a Captian and now a maffia gang leader just like starwars when anakin was a jedi and he betrayed them

Just an outsider and yet you, their blood, betrayed them..
Proof that family isn't defined by blood

Thanks for the recap. Now I don't have to watch it...though I do think Jared Leto can be an amazing performer. His performance in "The House of Gucci" was incredible. It was hard to even recognize him because he so engulfed himself in the character. I know a lot of critics hated his performance...I thought it was spectacular.

Like the saying goes, no matter how fluent Japanese you speak, no matter how you know the culture, they don’t care you are always a foreigner. Same cultural similarities in China.

We always see these type of storylines but never the opposite. Outsider, Tokyo Drift, Last Samurai, Dr Strange, Great Wall, Iron Fist, etc. Hollywood seems to have a personal vendetta against Asian men.

I've seen janitor become Multi millionaire and even till now he can be called a high end celeb...

I've seen truck driver become a multi billionaire, realtor, and tech savy manufacturer... (my uncle)

I've seen student went from suicidal into full of prospect within 1 week...

This is truly a world of wonder. There's novelty in every story.
